I don't know another Democrat candidate who has Christie record for tax increases; not Biden, Hillary or Michelle. I think he can glide on his record as Governor to the Dem Convention in Nairobi or wherever they'll hold it to honor Obama

"TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - An analysis by The Associated Press has found the net household property tax burden rose 13% in Gov. Chris Christie's first three years in office."

Property tax burden up 13 pct under Christie - My9 New Jersey

The reason property taxes went up was because Christie slashed state spending like a good Republican. This shifted the burden to the local level through property taxes

Maybe they should slash spending, too :dunno:

Most of our local budget is school spending. Christie held back state spending on schools and the local governments had to make it up. There were also state mandated programs that the state used to fund. That funding shifted to the local level

Christie brags about how he balanced the state budget and cut spending. The taxpayer doesn't see the difference

Who says the Locals have to make up the difference? Where does it say that?

Where does it say that Teachers need to be paid $100k a year for teaching 3rd Grade Arithmetic?

Where does it say that Americans should be forced to pay Teachers the highest wages on Earth for (literally) the worst results on Earth?

Where does it say that?

Are you aware of the PISA Test Scores that we turn in? Last or near the the last in EVERY Category? Including Math, reading comprehension and Science....

Oh, you say, it's because of all the 'minorities' we have in our schools.

Bullshit.

We are DEAD LAST in "Electives'' in Schools as well.

When was the last time you saw 'minorities' lining up to take Calculus or Advanced Physics or Trig II or Algebra II or Chemistry II.

We have THE WORST PUBLIC EDUCATION ON EARTH.

And you know why?

Simple....... dimocrap scum run it.

No more complicated than that. Everything they touch, they turn to shit.

Stop funding them. Nobody says we have to pay them what they get paid. Maybe the law says we have to have Teachers but based on the product they're turning out, we may as well have a bunch of volunteer house wives teaching them.

In fact, I'd be willing to bet they'd do a BETTER job.

Cut back on what they get paid. Not complicated at all. Christie put the ball in their court.

Run, pass or punt

It's a damn shame you spend so much on "education", with such pitiful results.

Urban areas do not do as well in education. That has always been the case. But NJ as a whole ranks among the best in the quality of its education

Unlike those Red States that put their educational dollar into their Football team

Call it the palace of high school football: A gleaming $60 million facility with seats for 18,000 roaring fans, a 38-foot wide high-definition video screen, corporate sponsors and a towering upper deck.

Welcome to the new home of Eagles football.
"Our intention is not to recoup the money it cost to build the stadium," Carroll said. "It's not practical to say we'll get that money back. (But) the revenue we receive from the stadium will far exceed the cost of operating it."

Blaming minorities for lowering school grades. Vintage. The Left will tell you that this comes from all of the wealthy whites. Not true. In Maryland, we have an Indian friend who asked the Black Vice Principal at their elementary school as to why the school rating had plummeted over the last couple of years (from 7 down to 3). The Vice Principal looked her square in the eye and said, "It is because of all of the Latinos that are here in school and neither they nor their parents speak English." This is a school that is equal parts white, black, latino and a healthy Asian and Indian population making up the balance.
