Zone1 Christmas Every Day

Just so it's understood that scripture is silent about anyone doing that.

It's my favorite part of Christmas, and again, I don't say that as a boast. I could never have "made" that my favorite part of Christmas. Only God can do that.

The word "Christmas" never occurs in the Bible, of course. But worship does, plenty

yes, your sky friend is very insecure, and needs to be praised all the time.
Is it possible this scenario is familiar to you:

You are walking with friends as the sun sets. Your friends say, "What a gorgeous sunset!" You don't notice because you're talking about yourself. Later on, you are all at a barbecue and people are exclaiming how delicious everything is. You're still talking about yourself and what you think. The stars come out, it's bright and clear, with the most magnificent meteorite display seen in the past decade. People watch it in awe (there are oohs and ahhs) as...you talk about yourself.

For people of faith, God's glory is like the events above. The sunset, the food, the meteor shower don't 'need' to be praised, they are praiseworthy in and of themselves. SweetSue92 shares the beauty in her life that came through God's glory...and all you have to share in return is a selfish comment, directing attention to you and your own snide opinion?

@SweetSue92 shares the beauty in her life that came through God's glory..

is that by proxy the christian bible - in fact that is all meriweather - 92 ever talk about, themselves and the christian bible - never the holidays and how everyone else celebrates the new and previous years events.

in fact there was not christianity during the lifetime of jesus and they did not die with a proclamation as a messiah of any sorts as their message was anything than self determination through liberation theology never mentioned in any of the desert bibles.

Some see christmas as a holy day , some it's just another day off

I'm not about picking apart anyone's faith here, but either way it's a day to acknowledge humanity as a whole

like it or not, we're all in this together.......

Something that fits here, due to my lack of vernacular>

Best to all of you & yours ~S~

why would I be talking about myself?

I know I hit a nerve about how insecure your sky pixie must be if he was real. (In reality, he isn't,,, but the religious assholes have to keep you people in line somehow...and writing checks. )

Here's the thing about sunsets and meteor showers... they really have no effect on your life and how you are trying to get by everyday. they all have RATIONAL explanations that don't require an imaginary Sky friend who demands CONSTANT worship. (and money!!!)

George Carlin put it the best.

Sue is the kind of person that makes me proud to be an atheist. nasty, mean spirited, Thinks her bigotries against gays, Muslims, and Mexicans are "virtues".

As a Christian, I am thankful that we all take at least one day out of the year to remember our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To a Christian, we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. No amount of self effort can save us. However, a Lamb without blemish and spot came and lived a sinless life and actually suffered for the sins of all mankind that he might bring forgiveness of sin and immortality through the resurrection of the dead so that we not only will live again in bodies of flesh and bones as immortals but that we might also have the opportunity to choose repentance and love of God and each other in order to become the kind of people who could live again in the presence of God. Jesus is our Savior and Redeemer and we celebrate his birth and life and sacrifice for us. To a true believer in Jesus Christ, He is the greatest thing that has ever happened in this fallen mortal world. Merry Christmas to all!!!

Okay.

So what if Jesus was just a dude and his followers just got a little carried away?

Try this social experiment:
Tell a few children santa claus is not real and see the reaction, then tell an equal amount of Christian adults that Jesus isn't based on a singular historical figure, in that Jesus like Santa is not real and notice the reaction.
So which group was more hostile, immature, and less rational and accepting of the honest commentary.
Which group turns instantly into a neo nazis upon being told their icon doesn't exist? And there you goooooo.....you learned something about belief based on what you are told and not what you know, and how group affiliation pride (human ego) controls reacting to unpopular realities. Because innocence has yet to form human frail ego, hurt feelings will stay inward, but as an adult with pride will deflect and displace the hurt onto the bearer of bad news and lash out.

The old shoot the messenger not the message…That way no one has to change anything and the can can be kicked down the road again and again and the missing Waldo( the Jesus character) can stay missing for another thousand years or so and the party can continue to be celebrated every new year again and again with nothing ever changing and no new results … Is that not the definition of insanity and when will people finally wake up and shake off this bad dream that has caused them to sleep walk through their lives.. When indeed…
