The mainstream media combined with the democrat party turned the 1st Amendment upside down with the faulty Supreme Court decision back in the 40's that created the concept of "separation of church and state" that had no Constitutional basis. Through the decades the democrat party expanded "sep.church/state" to the point that the ironically named ACLU threatened to sue any municipality into bankruptcy for daring to put a Christmas tree on public property. The mainstream media including the print media and Hollywood stopped using "Christmas" and Americans faced assault and/or ridicule for celebrating the birth of Christ.

If you were to go up to a Democrat right now, and wish them a "Merry Christmas", they will try to silence you. It's not in their vocabulary, to wish you back just one holiday. They rather greet you adamantly "Happy Holidays", as they group all of the Religions together.
