CNN's Hunt Notes 'Massive Failure' by Secret Service

Silences Talk of Possible 'Inside Job'

14 Jul 2024 ~~ By Mark Finkelstein

On CNN this morning, host Kasie Hunt described the attempted assassination of Donald Trump in blunt, truthful terms as:
"A massive failure by the Secret Service."
Moments later, when panelist Elliott Williams, in the context of a discussion of unverified information on social media, made mention of people floating the notion of an "inside job," Hunt shut him down, saying:
"We don't want to get into that."
Hunt might well have valid journalistic reasons for shutting down speculation about an inside job.
Although it was not as if the person who raised it, Elliott Williams, did so to lend credence to the notion. To the contrary, Williams, a CNN analyst, is a former Obama DoJ official. He mentioned "inside job" in the context of criticizing unverified information on social media.

Commentary:
After all the rallies indoors and out, that Trump has held over all these years, and with the massive number of people who have attended each and every one of them, that something like this should happen within a day of the Republican National Convention kicking off, is not a coincidence. There is no such thing as coincidences.
The fact that the FBI asked to use deadly physical force at Mar-a-lago had the chance arisen, speaks loudly here.
Democrat Neo-Marxists clearly have murder/assassination on their mind. It's their one last hope to get rid of the man once and for all. Two impeachments that failed to remove Trump, fake lawsuits, numerous fake criminal charges, prosecutions and persecution, now a failed assassination attempt. Yep probably all coincidences.
A massive failure is an understatement
Dear Lying Quisling Media, please explain why a roof top, with ladder access, less than 150 yards from the top 10 highest value targets in the world, had clear line of sight to both the stage and the egress route to the exit car, left unguarded and uncovered?
That is, at the very least, pure reckless incompetence verging on the criminal.
This was either gross incompetence or inside jobby Democrat Neo-Marxists. Pick one.
That is, unless someone can come up with a different plausible explanation.

Is Kassie Hunt authorized to tell us what to think or say?

Purposefully shooting him just enough to graze his ear would be a pretty miraculous shot.

And you right, that the 20 year old with zero military or law enforcement experience, just a membership to a shooting range, being an inexperienced shooter IS the simplest explanation for why he missed.

And the simple explanations are usually the right ones
It would be an impossible shot.
Unless you were shooting at a statue.

So where’s this video then?

The video was supposed to show snipers aimed at the shooter. It did not

Grasping at straws like a downing man... Eh?
Apparently there were several people that spotted Crooks on the roof of the building and reported it yet nothing was done by the police or the Secret Service.
WE can only believe that the advance team of the Secret Service failed to do the job, police failed to do the job, and the chosen shooter was not competent in doing his job.
Just another typical Joe Biden decision gone wrong.
The gang that coudn't shoot straight....

Already discussed.

A local cop responded to what those people saw… confronted the shooter and withdrew without sounding an alarm

The snipers knew where he was

The sniper that blew his brains out made a headshot in one shot from farther than Thomas missed in 6 to 8.

The shot is entirely possible from the effective range of those weapons. As is an intentional miss or a nick.

In fairness, the police sniper was far more experienced and a trained professional. So I'd hope he's a better shot that a 20 year old who's a member of a local shooting club.

I"m not saying Thomas intentionally missed. In fact, him being a terrible shot is far more likely. I'm saying that intentionally missing is definitely a possibility, and a nick at that range is entirely possible. Especially when the shooter was a conservative republican.
The counter sniper was using a proper sniper rifle, something on the order of a Remington 700 BDL, that can shoot half dollar sized groups at three hundred yards consistently. He also trains to make those shots on a daily or at worst, weekly basis. The assassin was apparently using a box-stock AR with iron sights. On a range with no stress, a head shot at a hundred thirty yards is a clout shot. In the real world with adrenaline pumping, wind direction to consider and shooting a light 55 grain .223 bullet, it’s not an easy shot to make. No one would try to hit an ear considering that a one inch deviation would be lethal to Trump.

The kid might have gotten lucky in being able to penetrate the guard cordon, but the building should have been guarded. I won’t attribute this to enemy action, but it sure makes the Secret Service and local LEOs look incompetent, especially when you compare their post-shoot actions with the team covering Reagan when he was shot.
