Those Calls to Trump? White House Admits They Didn’t Happen


WASHINGTON — Has President Trump told you about the time the head of the Boy Scouts called to say his was the best speech ever delivered to the more than century-old organization? What about when the president of Mexico picked up the telephone to let him know that his tough enforcement efforts at the border were paying off handsomely?

The anecdotes, both of which Mr. Trump told last week, were similar in that they appeared to be efforts to showcase broad support for the president when his White House has been mired in turmoil. But they also had another thing in common, the White House conceded on Wednesday: Neither was true.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, confirmed at her daily briefing what the Boy Scouts and the Mexican government had already asserted publicly, which is that neither phone call that Mr. Trump referred to had occurred.

I don't think we should let this go. We should go on and on about this just like they did Hillary being under sniper fire. It's the same type of lie. Bullshitter. Odd that the Republicans don't care that Trump is as big of a liar as Hillary. Now they will say, "oh well, they all lie", but no. Maybe the guy we run in 2020 is not a liar.

The double standard is fucked up. And the thing is, we never bring this shit up first. Did we ever go after some politician because he was cheating on his wife? Did we go after Bush after his 10 benghazis? Did we go after Bush because he did cocaine? No but remember the GOP were bothered that Bill Clinton may has smoked a joint when he was a road scholar?

Remember they didn't like it that Obama had no experience? Then they go cheering on a guy like Ben Carson?

The list goes on. What about the slow growth? What about Trumps REAL unemployment numbers? What about when Trump doubles the debt?
