LMFAO, really, this is your response? The beginning of the paragraph talks about "the struggle against radical Islam". SMFHI have to believe it is you that is ignorant since Trump was talking about the Syrian Refugees that are being allowed to come here, to which there is no way to verify them? This statement of his:
We must stop importing extremism through senseless immigration policies. We have no idea where these people are coming from. There’s no documentation. There’s no paperwork. There’s nothing. We have to be smart. We have to be vigilant.
Is Trump a) Ignorant or b) Lying?
There is documentation on every legal immigrant. There is paperwork on every legal immigrant. And remember- every act of terrorism in the United States has happened by either a U.S. citizen, or a person legally permitted to be in the United States.
So- Trump- lying- or ignorant?
Senior Obama officials have warned of challenges in screening refugees from Syria
Several high-level administration officials have warned in recent months just how challenging this can be. While they say U.S. security measures are much better than in the past, vetting Syrian refugees poses a quandary: How do you screen people from a war-torn country that has few criminal and terrorist databases to check?
....
“I don’t, obviously, put it past the likes of ISIL to infiltrate operatives among these refugees, so that’s a huge concern of ours,” Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said at a security industry conference in September, using another name for the Islamic State. He added that the government has “a pretty aggressive program” for screening refugees but that he is less confident about European nations.
FBI Director James Comey added in congressional testimony last month that “a number of people who were of serious concern” slipped through the screening of Iraq War refugees, including two arrested on terrorism-related charges. “There’s no doubt that was the product of a less than excellent vetting,” he said.
Although Comey said the process has since “improved dramatically,” Syrian refugees will be even harder to check because, unlike in Iraq, U.S. soldiers have not been on the ground collecting information on the local population. “If we don’t know much about somebody, there won’t be anything in our data,” he said. “I can’t sit here and offer anybody an absolute assurance that there’s no risk associated with this.”
Yep, it doesn't appear to be Trump who is ignorant or lying.
Trump doesn't mention Syrian refugees- nor can his reference be regarding Syrian refugees.
The struggle against radical Islam also takes place in our homeland. There are scores of recent migrants inside our borders charged with terrorism. For every case known to the public, there are dozens and dozens more. We must stop importing extremism through senseless immigration policies. We have no idea where these people are coming from. There’s no documentation. There’s no paperwork. There’s nothing. We have to be smart. We have to be vigilant.
Not one mention of 'refugees'- or 'Syrians'- and since not one of the cases of terrorism within the United States was by a Syrian national- refugee or immigrant- either Trump was not referring to Syrian refugees- or he is once again lying or ignorant.
Finally- when it does come to the issue of actual Syrian refugees- whom Trump doesn't mention. And Trump says 'there's no paperwork. There's nothing'- not even your quote supports that claim. Syrian refugees will take at least a year to process before being admitted, and require lots of paperwork.

The reality is that refugees- and immigrants do have documentation- do have paperwork. Unlike many tourists which come here with nothing more than a passport.
The problem is Syrian Refugees have no way to be vetted as described by Comey and Clapper.
