Israel accepted UN 194 resolution, which stated Arabs who were willing to live in peace in the new state of Israel could return, but that would have required the recognition of Israel's jurisdiction by those returning so no Arabs applied. Two years later those properties became state land, and no one could enter Israel with permission.There were a lot of absentee Arab owners because the Zionists would shoot at them if they tried to return to their homes and villages.
