Instead of running on how to make the country the best place for business in the world, the capitalistic paradise it should be or at the very least to increase and make a good economy, they use division and placation issues to win.

Young People - Gay Marriage, Student Loans and Evirolying.
Latinos and Asians - Amnesty, no border control and immigration reform.
Blacks - anti-voter ID, free and easy welfare
Women - Gun control, abortion\
Healthy percent of whites - Anti-self-funding of pension, against right to work, sell out to unions.

They placate these groups and never run on a record of improving the economy. At least they haven't done that for a long time!
