All of these free market conservative paradises have no minimum wage!

For extra help in selecting your next home nation, the countries with *'s have a total tax burden of less than 10% GDP!

Malaysia is increasingly a great place to set up a business. Excellent recommendation on your part.

Malaysia?

Be very careful, that you don't get set up with drugs, or off to death row you will be going.
Then one day you'll be dragged from your cell kicking and screaming to the gallows.
Malaysia?
Never will I ever set foot in the place.

BBC News | ASIA-PACIFIC | British nurse sentenced to death

A British nurse charged with drug smuggling in Malaysia has been sentenced to death by hanging.
Father-of-two David Chell, 57, from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, was found guilty of possession of more than half a kilo of heroin.

Mr Chell, who says the heroin was planted on him, is to appeal against the sentence.

'Set-up'

Mr Chell, a psychiatric nurse, was charged after an airport guard claimed to have discovered drugs on him as he prepared to board a flight to Australia in October 1998.

Customs officers at Penang Airport in northern Malaysia say they found the drugs in Mr Chell's underwear.

But Mr Chell said one of the security officers produced the bag of heroin from underneath a cushion in the airport examination room where he was taken.

Having spent 12 months + on death row...at his appeal the truth was revealed, and he was set free, and returned to Britain.

Malaysia...baaah!
In fact I would never set foot in any of those countries listed at the start of the thread.

Somalia currently has true free market capitalism that is unfettered by government regulations. ..

Exactly who doesn't like minimum wage laws on this board?

You must be talking about fast food workers getting 15 an hour. Well why not 30? Let's make those skilled workers make more than Electricians, Welders, and etc..........

Do you know how much talent is required to flip a burger. Geeeeeeeeeeshh. They are so underpaid.

Right on HIPPIE.

Some right wing 'toon always whips out the "why not $X an hour?" argument, which always flops and fails. Why not? Because it would be too high. A law to incrementally raise the minimum to $15 and hour would be good for Americans. Yes, some at the top would have to do with less. I'm sure they'll be fine, anyway. They can pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

I think each industry should set a minimum wage...
-Medical
-Construction
-Fast food
-Cars
-Electrician
-Welders
-etc

Setting one minimum wag on doctors same as a berry picker doesn't make sense. The minimum wage should be fair to the workers but also economic towards the industry.

I support some minimum wage certainly.

Minimum wage jobs are usually entry level unskilled jobs for untrained people.

And are not a career path. ..

So you try to bring the bottom wages up closer to a skilled worker's level..............All of your prices go up to try to make only a top and bottom class as your strategy. In a lot of places in Europe, that's what you have now.

And Libs claim to be for the middle class. Minimum wage standards should only go up in small increments associated with the CPI and inflation. Which given our Gov't is destroying the dollar is ever increasing.

Yet the final bell hasn't tolled, as the Fed keeps pumping 0% money into the markets creating another bubble. When they stop that, the chickens will come home to roost.

meanwhile the Obamas live high on the hog on the tax payer's dime yet you won't see the lefties bitching about that

Sadly this happens to "tourists" in the Americas, Africa and throughout Asia. Some believe they can make easy money, others are conned into committing crimes. Some are simply abused without reason. I agree that these situations are sad. If you read Amnesty International or CIRI reports, you will see that China ranks among the very worst countries in terms of human rights and criminal justice. Comparatively. Malaysia in 2012/13, is doing a far sight better.

CIRI Human Rights Data Project: Home

However, based on the IMF and World Bank the "Ease of Doing Business" 2013 ranking of Malaysia was 12th (out of 185 economies)!

Doing Business in Malaysia - World Bank Group

Makes you want to pull your investments out of China and start doing business in Malaysia.

Marxism: The Concise Encyclopedia of Economics | Library of Economics and Liberty

Marx was surely a profound thinker who won legions of supporters around the world. But his predictions have not withstood the test of time. Although capitalist markets have changed over the past 150 years, competition has not devolved into monopoly. Real wages have risen and profit rates have not declined. Nor has a reserve army of the unemployed developed. We do have bouts with the business cycle, but more and more economists believe that significant recessions and depressions may be more the unintended result of state intervention (through monetary policy carried out by central banks and government policies on taxation and spending) than an inherent feature of markets as such.

Socialist revolutions, to be sure, have occurred throughout the world, but never where Marx’s theory had predicted—in the most advanced capitalist countries. On the contrary, socialism was forced on poor, so-called Third World countries. And those revolutions unwittingly condemned the masses to systemic poverty and political dictatorship. In practice, socialism absolutely failed to create the nonalienated, self-managed, and fully planned society. It failed to emancipate the masses and instead crushed them with statism, domination, and the terrifying abuse of state power.

Nations that have allowed for private property rights and full-blown market exchange, in contrast to those “democratic socialist republics” of the twentieth century, have enjoyed remarkable levels of long-term economic growth. Free-market economies lift the masses from poverty and create the necessary institutional conditions for overall political freedom.

Marx just didn’t get it. Nor did his followers. Marx’s theory of value, his philosophy of human nature, and his claims to have uncovered the laws of history fit together to offer a complex and grand vision of a new world order. If the first three-quarters of the twentieth century provided a testing ground for that vision, the end of the century demonstrates its truly utopian nature and ultimate unworkability.

Capitalism and free markets keeps getting destroyed by the lazy urge to raid the treasure. :( Nothing has killed more human beings then Marxism.

Kind of like the rat that eats the cheese off of the mouse trap.

As this Op gives the usual Rallying Cry of Income Equality, or Class Warfare, it fails to see the ACTUAL PROBLEM our country is facing which is causing all the Grief for the lower classes.

Businesses aren't the problem. The Gov't is the problem. It's Fiscal policies and RAMPANT BORROWING is destroying the value of the Dollar. Which makes it harder for lower wage workers to get by.

So now, the solution proposed is to fix the problem with MORE GOV'T INTERVENTION. The very ones who created the problem in the first place.

Our NATION'S problem is FISCAL INSANITY. It will eventually take down one of the Greatist Military and Economic Powers in the World's History.

But the blind sheep refuse to see what is coming and opt for temporary measures that only make the problem worse, and refuse to see that our path is the wrong one. Ensuring less of a future for our kids and their's down the road.

What do you tell them, as they see their future that isn't pretty? Sorry, we had an obligation to PARTY ON DUDE. We had to have a good time so you get the bill son.

And so it goes on with Liberal Minded BS agenda's that take us down the road to Economic Ruin.

And that is exactly what is being done, too.

Why do you think the USA is missing 30 or 40,000,000 industrial jobs today?

Actually it is the first step on the ladder.

If people don't have the will to do the work it takes to climb the ladder that's their own fault.

My very first job (other than a paper route) was stocking shelves for minimum wage. Within 6 months I was managing the dairy department and got dollar an hour raise. If I had wanted to I could have worked my way up to a management position in the Market chain.

I worked in a restaurant as a dish washer, then a waiter then a shift leader again I could have gone all the way up and managed had i wanted to.
That's the way the world works.

All it would do is hurt the poor more than Obama already has.

Buy a clue.
