LEADERS FROM AMERICAN RACIAL JUSTICE MOVEMENTS CONNECT WITH PALESTINIANS LIVING UNDER OCCUPATION
ByKRISTIAN DAVIS BAI

Representatives at the forefront of the movements for Black lives and racial justicehave taken a historic trip to Palestine this week to connect with activists living under Israeli occupation.

Black journalists, artists and organizers representing Ferguson, Black Lives Matter, Black Youth Project 100 (BYP100), and more have joined the Dream Defenders for a 10-day trip to the occupied Palestinian Territories and Israel.

The trip comes after a year of highly-publicized repression in Ferguson, the Gaza Strip, and West Bank including East Jerusalem, as well as solidarity between these places.

Ahmad Abuznaid, Dream Defenders’ legal and policy director and a co-organizer of the delegation, said that the goal of the trip was to make connections.

“The goals were primarily to allow for the group members to experience and see first hand the occupation, ethnic cleansing and brutality Israel has levied against Palestinians, but also to build real relationships with those on the ground leading the fight for liberation,” wrote Abuznaid. “In the spirit of Malcolm X, Angela Davis, Stokely Carmichael and many others, we thought the connections between the African American leadership of the movement in the US and those on the ground in Palestine needed to be reestablished and fortified.”

Abuznaid said the trip represented a chance to bring the power of Black organizing to Palestine.

“As a Palestinian who has learned a great deal about struggle, movement, militancy and liberation from African Americans in the US, I dreamt of the day where I could bring that power back to my people in Palestine. This trip is a part of that process.”

Over the past week, the delegation has met with refugees, Afro-Palestinians, a family that was kicked out of their house by settlers in East Jerusalem, and organizations representing Palestinian political prisoners, Palestinian citizens of Israel, and the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement (BDS).

Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors said apartheid is what immediately struck her about what she saw on the ground.

Here's an idea - organize a trip to Washington DC to protest American freedom. You could call it, oh, I don't know, how about American Spring?

Stephanie

You should ROLL ON THIS BEFORE ITS TOO LATE.

:spinner:

They should have tried the real experience of wanting liberation. Stabbing Jewish worshippers in their backs, running over 3 year olds, throwing firebombs on little girls, butchering 3 months old babies in their sleep. Cool stuff like that.

Far Left Leeches Onto Black Lives Matter Protest
Matt Vespa | Jan 11, 2015

Right before Christmas, MRCTV’s Dan Joseph spoke with participants in the Black Lives Matter protest, and he found some rather interesting views from the protesters. For starters, he found one woman who thought former Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson was trying to become a member of the Ku Klux Klan.

He asked another why there haven’t been protests to address black-on-black violence in America. The protester told him that this has already happened. Oh, and let’s not forget that the origins of domestic terrorism are not grounded in Islam, but white supremacy.

Some protest signs invoked the crisis in Gaza, which has nothing to do with what happened to Michael Brown, or Eric Garner in New York City.

Yet, socialists and Marxists decided to leech onto the protest. One of them was selling their newspaper at the rally. He told Joseph that the whole system is set up to “kill” and “incarcerate” black youth. The self-described Marxist was there to protest capitalism and racism. I guess the far left is just starved of oxygen.

One of the last people Dan spoke to in his video was a man selling protest buttons for $3.

So anyone that visits Israel should be denied entry back into their own country?

You do understand that these "evil people" are Americans that have every right to express their beliefs, even ones different that you, and they are still Americans right?

And you never cared in the first place about the issue of excessive force in police procedure. You want people different from you beaten and killed by the police with complete immunity no matter what.
