Early returns indicate de Blasio leads in NYC mayoral primary; unclear if he’ll avoid runoff
NEW YORK — Public Advocate Bill de Blasio held a clear lead Tuesday night in New York City’s mayoral Democratic primary as polls closed, according to early and incomplete voting returns. It was unclear, though, whether he would top the 40 percent threshold needed to avoid a runoff.

De Blasio’s rise in the race to succeed Mayor Michael Bloomberg was as sudden as it was unexpected.

I hope 52nd Street really does live in NYC. This would drive him over the edge.

And Spitzer and Weiner go down in defeat!!!!
:clap2: May this drive a message home to all politicians.

Is his plan Education, infrastructure, tech and science????

His plan is full of empty rhteoric that will never materialize in this city. But that's what most American's love when it comes to election time. Talks of utopia that are about as realistic as me bringing my idea of a fart-run lawn mower to fruition.

Same old same old. He'll tax the rich for full day pre-k, never mind the cost, and the required tax increase driving people out of the city.

Jersey, Westchester and Conneticut are about to see a sizable increase in thier tax base.

he will probably also suck public union dick, thus making the budget even more unwieldly, thus requiring more taxes.

He is said to be an uber liberal community activist who benefitted by running against two perverts. For democrats he was basically the only game in town.

He's the angel of death for NYC, in fact all the Democrats are. They can't wait to green light criminals to take control of the streets, drive businesses out by insisting on "living wage"

The real estate developer will still do well, but they just won't live here any more.

It will be like Dinkins never left

Yeah, he wants to use French taxation to turn NYC into Detroit.

This is gonna work out well...uh huh, this time it'll work. They swear. This time, the rich and productive will sit there and be penalized for being rich and productive. We don't need to build the walls yet to keep them from fleeing, they really like being demonized

Hey, man. Detroit is a testament to the "success" of LOLberal policies.

Not so sure it will get that bad. If crime rates go up even a bit, its 4 years of this twat and then Ray Kelley will run as a Republican and win.

Empty rhetoric seems to be a winning strategy in NYC.

That's correct.
