You don't understand. Once one party gets full control, things will be changed so that they can never lose again. Democrats were very close to accomplishing that if they could have voted out the filibuster. Joe Manchin and Kirsten Sinema saved the country from that political coupe. But, both parties are still racing toward that finish line where they can get rid of the filibuster and pass legislation which will keep them in power forever. There will be no more switching back and forth by the voters because it will no longer be possible.

The filibuster was great when someone had to stand at the podium and read the phone book. I guess because phone books went away, they decided that they only had to declare a filibuster situation, without actually talking on forever. You either hold the floor or you don't.
