Epidemic: Deadly diseases crossing border with illegal aliens

One of the immigration laws we've had in place for decades, is that all immigrants must be checked for various communicable diseases that are common abroad but rare or eradicated in the United States.

It's one of the many Federal laws that is being violated wholesale by the Obama administration, as they let in thousands of immigrants, bus them to different cities across the land, and generally let in as many as want to come. They issue them with a "Notice to Appear", commanding them to show up for their deportation hearing, and then let them free among the population. (Such a notice is sardonically referred to by the illegals as a "Notice to Disappear", and they obligingly do).

By letting the illegal aliens in, they are also letting in communicable diseases that Americans haven't seen for generations. Everything from scabies to TB to polio has been breaking out in the border states, and now across the land as the illegals are bussed deep into the country.

A flood of illegals has massively surged at our southwestern borders. The economic impact of medical care, education and incarceration for illegals forced on taxpayers is bankrupting Arizona.

Why are such swarms entering the U.S. illegally NOW, particularly children? Newspapers in Mexico and Central and South America are actually describing U.S. “open borders,” encouraging people to come with promises of food stamps or “amnesty.” It is textbook Cloward-Piven strategy to overwhelm and collapse the economic and social systems.

Carried by this tsunami of illegals are the invisible “travelers” our politicians don’t like to mention: diseases the U.S. had controlled or virtually eradicated: tuberculosis (TB), Chagas disease, dengue fever, hepatitis, malaria, measles, plus more. I have been working on medical projects in Central and South America since 2009, so I am aware of problems these countries face from such diseases.

A public health crisis, the likes of which I have not seen in my lifetime, is looming. Hardest hit by exposures to these difficult-to-treat diseases will be elderly, children, immunosuppressed cancer-patients, patients with chronic lung disease or congestive heart failure. Drug-resistant tuberculosis is the most serious risk, but even diseases like measles can cause severe complications and death in older or immunocompromised patients.

TB is highly contagious – you catch it anywhere around infected people: schools, malls, buses, etc. The drug-resistant TB now coming across our borders requires a complex, extremely expensive treatment regimen that has serious side effects and a low cure rate.

Chagas, caused by the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi, is carried by the triatomine bug that transmits disease to humans. Right now, Chagas disease is uncommon in the U.S., so many doctors do not think to check for it.

Chagas causes debilitating fatigue, headaches, body aches, nausea/vomiting, liver and spleen enlargement, swollen glands, loss of appetite. When Chagas reaches the chronic phase, medications will not cure it. It can kill by arrhythmias, congestive heart failure or sudden cardiac arrest.

Vaccine-preventable diseases like chicken pox, measles and whooping cough spread like wildfire among unvaccinated children. Other illnesses, along with scabies and head lice, also thrive as children are transported by bus and herded into crowded shelters – courtesy of the federal government. Treatment costs are borne by taxpayers.

Our public health departments complain of being overtaxed by a dozen cases of measles or whooping cough. How will they cope with thousands of patients with many different, and uncommon, diseases? Americans, especially Medicaid patients, will see major delays for treatment.

If we are going to let them in anyway and there is nothing the public can do the next best is to put the diseased into the warehouses and into their already packed communities

They have no hope in their own country so they have to come here. What does this tell you?

Dealing with the US Illegal Alien Problem | Illegal Immigration Statistics

The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act states that hospitals can’t turn away anyone requiring emergency medical care regardless of their citizenship, status, or ability to pay. Because of this act many Mexicans cross the border for free Health Care. Each year hospitals close to the border receive 7,000 new cases of leprosy and 16,000 of tuberculosis from illegal aliens while paying legal residents must wait behind them in line.

In Los Angeles County new emergency room cases from illegal immigrants cost taxpayers more that $500 per tax payer in 2004. In addition, 71 hospitals have closed down in California because of uninsured people using emergency rooms. Over 50% of the uninsured are illegal immigrants.

Oh, boo fucking god-damned hoo. The richest nation in the history of the world doesn't want to help sick people.

Go fuck yourself.

To me this tells that what goes around comes around - US goes around middle east and the other parts of the world, and other parts of the world come to USA - it's what makes the world go round - the circus of international bankers, because the people themselves are too ignorant to live by themselves.

Pretty typical leftist response to an article he can't refute: He starts ranting, insulting, namecalling, and squalling profanity. :cuckoo:

It's ironic then that many conservatives (both religious and otherwise) have been casting doubt on the need for vaccinations, going so far as to say that the gov't can't be trusted in such things. And with the push for "parental rights" and all, that's why there are more unvaccinated children at risk than ever.

That the border MUST be sealed and the invasion MUST be stopped by any means necessary.

You people don't have any idea what it means to "seal a border," do you?

North and South Korea essentially have a sealed border. So did East and West Berlin. Get the picture?

The simple fact is the US and Mexico do a LOT of trade and conduct a LOT of cross border business with LOTS of traffic going BOTH directions. The border is not going to be sealed by ANY president or by ANY Congress no matter what some of these conservative reactionaries say.

Some would sell the Statue of Liberty for scrap. And, as the US is the nation that has long been at the forefront of medical research, the fear mongering is unwarranted.

The article says a medical emergency "is looming"... not quite happening yet.

The border can't be sealed. A measure that could be taken is to make the governments liable for the illegal immigrants.

Instead of sealing the border, or trying to fight the tidal wave of immigrants, why not just make the governments from latin america pay a fee for each illegal ?

After all, those people cross the border , in part beacause of their governments have failed to provide good jobs.

The real criminals are probably enjoying taxes and squandering them instead of using them to provide services and infrastructure.

Yes, I do. And it needs to be done. It won't...nobody has the stones to do it. Wall off Mexico. Shoot anyone trying to cross.

Do the letters NAFTA ring any bells in your head?
Are you aware of the fact that Mexico is the second destination of American goods ?
You simply can't SEAL a border when you have a free trade agreement in place.
