Everyone is not allowed to build a private bridge over major CA Expressway.

But NVIDIA can. Connecting two sites on either side of San Thomas Expressway in Santa Clara, CA. i.e. Silicon Valley near 95050.

bet the state paid for it as well.

probably much more efficient than the alternate route.
Why would they? It connects two of that private company sites and does not serve the public.

This isn't a new thing in CA. A guy named Hahn developed Vintage Faire Mall in Modesto way back in the late 70s and as part of the development agreement, he paid for an overpass, off ramps and a section of connector roadway for access to the mall. Customers ultimately paid the bill, but it wasn't a tax payer burden. If they have the money to foot the bill and it doesn't inconvenience daily activity, I have no problem with it.

What? Not that big a deal.

I like the one at either DFW or Intercontinental that is used for planes crossing. Thats a trip.

Only socialists and commies would oppose free capitalists' rights to build bridges wherever they choose. It's just a horizontal highrise building!

America has reached the point at which Trump's socially responsible tendencies is causing confusion between Capitalism and Socialism! What to choose?? What would make jesus happy? [/b[

quote a parttime capitalist:
If they have the money to foot the bill and it doesn't inconvenience daily activity,..............

Since when has capitalism become conditional, based on a naysayer's personal objections?

I think it's only since Trump has caused progressive measures to be acceptable and these gomers have become confused on the meaning of Capitalism. fkn commie!

Meh, it's done at hospital complexes all the time. :dunno:

Then I guess I am wrong. I thought they would have to pay or jump thru hoops to get "allowed" in CA. I know of no others (private business) that pass over major Highways.

I’m not seeing the issue? Is there something to this besides a bridge over a road

I did not have issue. NVIDIA has been in the news......I saw the new campus beging built but I did not see the bridge back then. I did not figure CA would allow it. I realize there are others. But over a major highway-expressway?

I can't say I've seen one over an Interstate but plenty over four lane streets.

Wait....there is one over I-66 that connects two huge subdivisions that has no on or off ramps. I figure the developer had to foot the bill but it's in NOtVA so who knows.

Yes I have seen several STATE footbridges over major interstates. San Thomas is not any interstate. It is known as an Expressway like Lawrence Expressway also in Santa Clara. Point is, NVIDIA is succesful, but they built most all of this (blocks long buildings) back when they were growing. VISION.

NVIDIA is succesful as of now. Pretty good sized chunk of valuable Santa Clara land has NVIDIA on it.

See? You 'thought' because you've become confused on the rights of Capitalism, as it pertains to California!

Capitalism isn't 'conditional' in America, but the political climate is installing 'commie' confusion into your brain.

You're becoming another 'concerned American' when there's no reason for concern.

The local community college here has one, it was determined that a bridge over the road with people going 60+mph was better and safer than putting a random stoplight and a cross walk in. I’m just not seeing an issue the bridge is a smart safe path. Would rather have the. Use a bridge than try and play Frogger across traffic.
