Food Stamps OK For Porn, Tatoos, Jewelry

You get a card from the state that has your state's name and EBT on it. It can only be used at ATMs that will take it, and that is if you have cash benefits, and certain stores that are set up to take it.
You can take EBT cards if you run a tattoo shop, it is pretty simple.

A good step would be to prohibit cash benefits.

You have to prove it. I'd start with the official website of Massachusetts if I were you.

Well, color me surprised!!!

You're not going to keep your word???

Claude-Rains-shocked!

And after wingy posted this:" A friend of my brothers next door neighbor lives in Mass and he gets lap dances for food stamps

Is that enough proof?" post #516....

You are such a phony.

Here's the good news: it didn't lower my opinion of you....

Are you accepting unsubstantiated internet poster hearsay as fact now? I'm not.

Yeah, right.

First off he probably vetoed it because there is no need, unless you can buy porn, tattoos, and manicures at a grocery store or at C store.
The faux outrage is quite hilarious though. You do realize a store that sells porn, tattoos, or manicures would probably never be capable of taking a EBT card, right?
The only way you could stop it is by not allowing the card to be used at an ATM... But that would be more government control, right?

So like I said the governor probably vetoed the bill becAuse it is stupid and a waste. Whomever introduced the bill is a hack looking for political points.

1. Interesting how the Left is never quite able to connect the dots when it reveals their iniquities ...

a. Q.E.D.....the welfare funds are fungible ...and, therefore, can be used for every one of those abuses.

3. There is no "faux outrage"...merely a search for truth.

You can understand that....can't you?

Perhaps but for the working class stiff bustin' his nuts to provide for his own hears politicians and you discounting the practice, instead of taking immediate and substantive action to insure it doesn't happen, it feeds right into the sense we are already being gamed to support those who don't need supporting.

Folks like that would rather turn a blind eye to the problem because it spotlights how they have been hoodwinked.

People accept "government control" when it is government money.

If I gave my children gas money and they buy a case of beer, I would no longer give them gas money. See how that works?

And I don't think they pulled those services (manicures, porn, tattoos) out of their asses. I'm sure there have been cases.

Poor people scam the system, rich people scam the system ...even middle class scams the system

If you give your kids gas money they say......now I don't have to use my money for gas, I think I'll buy beer

Of course, your attitude makes you a part of the problem.

For the OP, and those who chimed in, in agreement -

do you see now why lying ruined your story? If you wanted to make some sort of case against cash assistance to the needy,

because by its very nature it allows for the purchase of other than necessities, then, sure, you could have done that, and that is a legitimately debatable issue.

However, by lying, by going that bridge too far by trying to wrongfully indict the food stamp program in a specious guilt-by-association fallacy,

you ended up redirecting most of the conversation into a debate over whether or not your story was true.

Face it, we all may be a bunch of dumbasses for being here in the first place, but enough of us are smart enough to make it foolhardy for anyone here to try to make a point based on a blatantly false premise.

You will get caught. You will burn.

No one is "lying"...

....there are those of us revealing the truth....

...and you're merely stupid.

No one here is even agreeing with you that the MA EBT card allows the purchase of non-food items with food stamp benefits.

You're not only lying, you're alone in your lie in a room full of conservatives. That's how bad a lie it is.

If someone proves to me that a person in MA with an EBT card with $100 worth of food stamp benefit on it can go to an ATM and get $100 cash,

then I will admit I am wrong.

A friend of my brothers next door neighbor lives in Mass and he gets lap dances for food stamps

Is that enough proof?

PC thinks that you were offering the above remark as serious testimony that food stamp benefits on EBT cards can be legally used to purchase lap dances.

Would you confirm or deny that, please?

Since I am neither Liberal, nor lack civility and upbringing, I eschew the charge of 'liar.'

As you suddenly wish to use specific phrase

"with food stamp benefits"

rather than acknowledge that folks make 'deal' and 'exchanges' with the card so as to purchase all sorts of other items....as identified in the thread....

....you have inadvertently revealed your dishonesty, and the truth of the OP.

You are truly stupid....and your own worst enemy.

Whoa....I detect fear.....

Look at the 'escapey' words 'legally used.'

What a dope! Again...you reveal that you are aware of the illegal exchanges that validate the OP!!!

I am blessed in having an opponent as dumb as you are......too bad you are allowed to vote.

You can take EBT cards if you run a tattoo shop, it is pretty simple.

And illegal.

That public assistance benefits might be subject to fraudulent use does not justify the discontinuance of any program. No elected official – Federal, state, local – condones the illegal use of SNAP benefits; and seeking more effective ways to combat fraud does not constitute acceptance of fraud.

Your link only further confirms that the original assertion of this thread was a lie:

“You can take that cash benefit and spend it on anything you want. There's no oversight for that. So, you know, people that are receiving cash assistance, I have a problem with them being in Florida for two months and spending their benefits there,” O’Connell said.

The cash benefit is not food stamps. They are two different animals.

Yes. I'm not sure exactly how the cards work, but I think it might be like your debit card, which may be linked to both your savings and checking. The SNAP acct. can be used for food stamp items; the TANF portion can be used for anything else.

This whole thread seems to be about semantics. The EBT card can be a "food stamp card" or a "food stamp plus anything you want card" depending on your financial situation.

Are you saying the fact EBT cards can be manipulated for carnal needs other than sustenance is cause for concern ?

Why is 'alone' so fear inspiring to you?

Don't be afraid to stand up for the truth.....
....but that fear of not being embraced by the mob is what makes you a Liberal, isn't it?

Gustave Le Bon, in his groundbreaking 1896 book, “The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind,” was the first to identify the phenomenon of mass psychology. Both Hitler and Mussolini used his book to understand how to incite a mob.
Coulter quotes Le Bon extensively in "Demonic."

Did you read it?

Pwwwwww.....did I ask you if you "read" something?????

How exactly? You do understand that you can't have a simple debit machine, right?
Show me a tattoo shop with an EBT machine or an EBT capable Debit/Credit card machine.

You do realize there is more into a business just saying hey we want to take EBT cards, right?
The first two years I worked at Kmart when I was younger they didn't even take EBTs because they were not capable and did not have the right program.

Please show me proof that in this state a tattoo shop, a porno shop, or a nail salon is capable of taking EBT cards. I will be waiting.

From your OP

Patrick allowed bans on the use of EBT cards in establishments known for the sale of seemingly controversial items — such as tattoo parlors, gun shops, casinos, cruise ships, and adult entertainment facilities —- to stand."

What EBT cards are banned in tattoo parlors all ready???????????? So there was no point to the bill??
Yeah, it isn't the left who wasting tax dollars in this case.
