Former President Carter

Iran should have been told they had 48 hours to release each and every hostage, either over the border to another country (probably Turkey), or to a neutral embassy. (Probably Switzerland.) Failing to do so would result in the detonation of a fifty-kiloton nuclear warhead over Tehran.

Slaughter of Iranian thugs perhaps, but only if they weren't smart enough to just surrender to the American heroes.
Carter was urged to attack Iran
He resisted the call for military action
If he had, hostages would have been killed

Took a while but he got them out alive

I guess you forget about the failed mission that led to the creation of Delta Force.

Figures.

The only reason why the hostages were released was that the ayatollah was afraid not to release them because there was a new sheriff in town.

Why would the ayatollah have had the hostages killed, just because of military action?

That would have made no sense, as killing the hostages would have meant retaliation.

Dumbwinger has a hard time with logical thinking.

He wanted to embarrass Carter
