In Chicago, Candidate Votes Republican, But His Vote Is Changed to Vote for Democrat
So I wonder how many went through before it was discovered...

I know in Russia they don't use computers during elections (they use paper bulletins and count them by hands with observers from all the parties + foreign ones). It takes longer, but nobody has an opportunity to change the computer counting program in a favor to anybody. I worked as a programmer, I know how easy it is to program a computer to make it do whatever you want.
