Trump later pardoned Flynn after he realized he was being railroaded by the FBI and the Judge who was illegally hounding him.

The initial FBI investigation said there was no concern wanted to close it down but that was prevented to then allow the legal hounding that was later exposed when the FBI memos came out showing their discussion on how to keep screwing Flynn over.
