Smartest thing I’ve seen Germany do in decades. They also need to reactivate some nuclear power plants...
Europe will become a force to be reckoned with. The industry will recover and become stronger than ever. MAKE EUROPE STRONG AGAIN!

why ? please elaborate
You are obviously not acquainted with the disingenuous "back-door" approach - as to how this bill was prepared (BTW it hasn't passed aka been ratified by the Bundesrat - which is due on Friday). but will likely pass due to internal political blackmail.

Nor do you seem to be aware that a 100 billion from the total figure needs to be allocated for Green Projects - otherwise the Greens would have boycotted that bill.

Furthermore new weapon systems e.g. those envisioned 800 MBT's need to be manned/staffed and the entire necessary combined arms doctrine needs to be set up - so we are talking about an extra 65,000 soldiers. Just for these 800 MBT's. !!! Not even to mention around 2400 qualified (takes a minimum of 8-12 years) Staff-officers right up to Generals - that presently do not exist.

The Bundeswehr was tasked in 2005 to maintain a 240,000 strong army - which they never managed to maintain - therefore in 2015 the figure was set at 210,000 and till today the Bundeswehr is still scraping at around 175,000.

The Bundeswehr's factual problem isn't the $$ - but for these "don't know anything" politicians, how to invest effectively in the past 20 years and to allocate it's present 85 billion budget appropriately.

This entire madness is solely construed to fatten the MIC, and thus those politicians and lobbyists wallets.

No, Germany should have had an assertive and intelligent government, that would have opted to resign from NATO in 1990. Then we could now rightfully demand that the USA and NATO handle the mess they created in Ukraine. Instead we (the people) have to foot the damn bill again.

About time. Get back to me when they have more than a token army.

Not a damn thing. Are they Hockey players LOL
Yup - e.g.

In 2020, Draisaitl became the first German player to win the Art Ross Trophy as the leading point scorer in the NHL, the Hart Memorial Trophy as regular season MVP, and the Ted Lindsay Award for most outstanding player. He is widely considered as one of the best players in the NHL.

Uwe Krupp and Tom Kühnhackl, each won the Stanley Cup twice. :)

The by far most stupidest decision taken by the German parliament since 1949.
Two stupid german decisions were the green energy revolution and allowing the migrant invasion

But if the germans are finally coming to their senses its about time

Neither the migrant issue nor the energy revolution cost the German taxpayer a fuck'in ludicrous US$ 600 billion.

To place this in US National debt relation for YOU - it would be as if Trump would take up a further national debt of US$ 8 Trillion just for defense nonsense.
But if the germans are finally coming to their senses its about time
Our governments?? - Obviously NOT

Germany has a much smaller economy than the US

And the gap is growing thanks dumb decisions by the germans

About time. 30 years later, they decide to put in fibre optics cables.

The internet being four times slower than tbe US.

So what? - a 600 Billion debt for Germany is the same ratio an 8 Trillion debt for the USA

Nothing to do with Germans - but those fuck'in useless politicians - like Trump
