...there is no point in trying to make sense of it.

Children die of leukemia.

Good men go bankrupt while corrupt men get rich.

Innocent girls get raped and their rapists go unpunished.

Fires and floods kill people and devastate communities.

There is no plan, at least, no plan that makes sense to us human beings.

In the Book of Job, we are told not even to question what God does, because we cannot understand it.

There is no ‘god’ as perceived by theists, and consequently no ‘plan.’

And the book of Job is a myth written by men.

Everything happens for a reason. Children die and go to heaven so the adults they leave behind have an opportunity to seize salvation. Fires and floods happen to remind people that there is a God, and to seek Him out. Good people die to show us that we do not know the time or the manner of our death...nor do we know the time or the manner of Christ's return.

You are changing the topic of this thread, which is the chaotic nature of this world which makes no sense if we believe in a loving God that is all powerful and yet lets us suffer.

Please stick to the topic of the thread.

Other than posting to this forum, and voting, what can I do as a "good man."

Should I go to Washington and get involved more in politics?

I rejected that path long ago because I felt I would be tainted by politics, no matter how good my intentions were when I began.

So what happens when we seek out this god?

I do not see the chaotic nature of this world as helping people reach the conclusion that there is a loving God who wishes us well. It seems that quite the opposite is true. Were it not for Christ's words in the Gospels, I would not believe God loves us.

One thing I have observed in this life is how God can still create goodness out anything that goes wrong.

When bad things happen, we find out what we're really made of. That much is true. Adversity is a test.

You help when you can, and when they deserve or even partially deserve.........Like a neighbor who walked in the rain with her child to the bus stop in the rain......and cold.......You have a older car that runs good.........no need for and you give it to her............Now she doesn't walk in the rain..............True story BTW........it's charity and by your choice.

Politicians force you to give to what they think you have to give because they say so..........not the same thing and why the Founding Fathers Feared a Gov't too powerful.........Keep it small........and keep the people's rules as Local as possible.
