After listening to this 4-side album in the 60's, I've waited a long time until now to really enjoy their music.

That's a shame. It appears the greatest rock artists didn't have a prayer. If they didn't get screwed one way, they got screwed another. The best example I always remember is how the record label forced Rush to make so many mediocre albums, another crying shame, since their core albums are legendary.

An Interview with Mark Farner

Review: I realize that the subject of Terry Knight is a tender one because

of how much money he appropriated from the band, but was your relationship

with him a complex one?

Farner: I told Don Brewer before we went into this thing that Terry was a

con man, a rip-off artist and that we're gonna get screwed. Brewer said

that was better than sitting in Flint, Michigan. And that's pretty much it.

There was a big interview with Terry recently in Discoveries magazine and

his character comes out so much in that piece. I read a little of it and

had to vomit.

I was in my early teens when the older brothers either got kicked out of the house or were forced to leave out of hunger for food. Yeah it was that bad. Late 60's early 708's.

Anyhow- before they (three of 'em) left, they told me to guard their record collection at all cost.

So out of boredom, I picked from the cabinet and put the vinyl to the table. GFR eventually hit the platter. Fucking defining moment in my life.

An excellent song!!!!

I have a 2 record set of songs of thiers from 1969-1971 titled "Mark,Don and Mel" and its incredibly good! (I would rather hear the songs IN ANALOG )

Side 3 has all LIVE SONGS from concerts they were in...... (Are you ready,Mean Mistreater and T.N.U.C. (All from 1970) anyone like those??)

I had the album with "WE'RE AN AMERICAN BAND" on it but the person who owned it before I found it a thrift store DID NOT TAKE CARE OF IT!!!!! (It was too far gone,so many skips it wasnt worth it (I threw it away (If i find THAT ALBUM again,i will get it!!)))

I dont get people WHO KNOW A RECORD IS RUINED but they still put it in a thrft store!! (I WOULDNT DO THAT TO SOMEONE,I WOULD GLADLY THROW THE RECORD AWAY THEN KNOWINGLY GIVE SOMEONE SOMETHING BAD!!)

I used to race through the desert nights of the great American southwest, probably high on amphetemines much of the time, blasting Grand Funk for the benefit of the wildlife.

Good times those.
