Happy Ground Hog day...

Here in Pittsburgh (a suburb of Punxy), we know that February is the honored feast of St. Blaise. He is venerated as the patron saint of sufferers from throat diseases and of wool combers and as one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. We go to church on the Feast (or the Sunday preceding) to have our throats blessed.

The groundhog? WGAS? His record as a weather prognosticator is as bad as it gets.

One word :groundhog" and it's Sunday 2/2. It used to be a relatively benign fun way to count down the time until Spring until the inane 1993 Bill Murray stupid movie. For the last quarter century "groundhog day" has become a pop-culture weird concept of repetitive existence. I hate it.
