I guess you haven't tried to find a box of .22LR lately.

I am not a lazy cheapskate. I use the various net tools to find somebody who HAS some, and I order it and wait. I don't buy it 50 rds at a time. Never did, since about 1969. 223 is 45c per rd, 22c per rd buys all the .22lr you want.
