Syrian Army gains important ground in the Idlib Governorate.

"The Syrian Arab Army’s 11th Tank Division has captured 2 imperative areas in the Idlib Governorate after months of fighting on the defensive against the Islamic Front (Jabhat Al-Islamiyya) and the Al-Nusra Front (Jabhat Al-Nusra) in the province. The 11th Tank Division first captured the Al-Jaazer Camp near the strategic city of Khan Sheikhoun, killing dozens of Liwaa Suqour Al-Sham (Falcons of the Levant Brigade) fighters before declaring the village under SAA control around 10:30 P.M. Damascus Time. Al-Jaazer Camp was captured by the Islamic Front last year; its loss led to the besiegement and eventual withdrawal of the SAA troops at Khan Sheikhoun.

In the mountains of Jabal Al-Zawiyyeh, the SAA – backed by the National Defense Forces and the Ba’athist Brigades – captured the village of Kafr Shalaaya near Idlib City. The SAA began operations at this village following the Al-Nusra Front’s attempt to breach the fortifications in the western corridor of Idlib City. Jabhat Al-Nusra spread themselves too thin in the Idlib Governorate by carrying out attacks on their former allies from the Syrian Revolutionaries Front (SRF) and capturing their strongholds. As a result of their recent offensive against the SRF, the SAA took advantage of their poor defenses and captured this Al-Nusra Front stronghold.

Meanwhile, in the Aleppo Governorate, the NDF has continued its offensive in the southern district of Al-‘Amariyya, where the latter targeted Islamic Front militants at the farms in the north. The NDF now controls approximately 70 percent of the Al-‘Amariyya District; this area is imperative due to its proximity to Al-Ramouseh and the Sheikh Sa’eed Power Plant."
