The Dems' reliance on PC/Identity Politics is the party's Third Rail. They could at least admit that they went too far. It didn't totally change the vote, but it sure as hell created enough resentment to count. They have to focus on the middle and working classes -- Americans of all identities are there, if it isn't too late.

Democrats ran on (under Obama) not starting new wars and ending the old ones. Prosecuting the bankers that caused the crash. Reforming immigration. Making the rich pay their fair share. Bringing down health care costs.......etc etc etc, the list is long.

They did none of that and worse than that they did the opposite. If they had done those things they would still be in power.

Not actually wanting to do what they promised they fell back on "you can pee in whatever rest room of your choosing" to differentiate themselves from Republicans.
