That picture is of David Stirling and his SAS guys. The jeeps were used for raids on German airfields.

The LRDG used Chevy trucks and avoided contact wherever possible. Led by Bagnold, who had extensive pre war Sahara Desert experience, the unit was mainly made up of Kiwi's.

During the Anglo-Zanzibar War, an interesting incident occurred.

The deposed Sultan Khalid ibn Bargash took refuge in the German embassy in order not to be arrested by the British, who were constantly on duty at the embassy.
The Germans then had to go to a trick to get the Sultan out.

On October 2, 1896, the German cruiser Orlan docked at the port. The German sailors carried a dinghy to the embassy, in which the Sultan was placed, and brought it back to the ship in the same way.
The essence of this event is that according to the laws of the time, the boat was part of the ship and formally the Sultan was on German territory and the British did not dare to arrest him.

One second before death. Damansky Island. March 1969 .

Private Nikolai Petrov, who was tasked with photographing everything that happens during the border conflict between the USSR and China, took a picture seconds before his death.

On it the commander of the Chinese branch Wu Yungao makes a conventional sign with his hand, which is a signal to the ambush to open fire on the Soviet border guards. The camera is found in the coat of the murdered Nikolai Petrov. It was these pictures that became documentary evidence of the first minutes of the battle on the border.
