ATLANTA - The Georgia Secretary of State’s Office says it is investigating a failed attempt to hack the state’s voter registration system by the Democratic Party of Georgia, the office said in a news release.

The state has not said what evidence they have that a hack occurred.

"While we cannot comment on the specifics of an ongoing investigation, I can confirm that the Democratic Party of Georgia is under investigation for possible cyber crimes," said Secretary of State office Press Secretary Candice Broce. Shouldn't we expect the FBI to be investigating this anyway? What the SoS is claiming would be a federal offense. Why is the investigation being handled by the SoS as opposed to legitimate law enforcement?

Shouldn't we expect the FBI to be investigating this anyway? What the SoS is claiming would be a federal offense. Why is the investigation being handled by the SoS as opposed to legitimate law enforcement?

Since the SoS made that accusation, I suspect the FBI will be looking into it. If the accusation is true, that's what they are supposed to do, but if it's a false accusation made for political purposes, that has to be something they should investigate too.

In 2016 Obama and his DHS attempted to hack numerous state election processes to support Barry's claim that the Russians were trying to do so and that all 50 state election processes should be taken over / controlled by HIS administration...which got very little press, especially from the Left.

The announcement is clearly for political purposes. If something allegedly happened, the SoS should be immediately referring it to law enforcement directly. Not announcing it to the public in order to draw law enforcement into coming to them.
