Is a 1911 Tougher than a Glock? Ultimate 1911 vs. Glock Torture Test | Ep.1

This is true - shooting to/past 100yds isn't that hard. Not much drop.
Correct. With a .45 my max effective range is about 100 to 120 yards. Beyond that I can't be certain of a hit.

With the 10 I am good out to 400 yards. So long as I can see it, I can hit it with my Delta Elite.

Not quite there with the Kodiak yet, but I'll get there!

Interesting. Why a 10mm? Is it comped? Otherwise your split times between shots must be atrocious. Again this is a question not a criticism.
I figure I don't know how many rounds I'll get - make them count.
It is not comped; it does have a dot on it.
I have no idea what my split times are - I can shoot 9mm a little faster.

What's funny is I can shoot my Delta Elite faster than my 9mm pistols. The way my body works the 10 pushes straight back, but the 9mm flips the muzzle up. So it takes me longer to get my front site back on target than it does with the 10.

A couple years ago I tried to get a group of guys to try their times with 9mm and 10mm so I would have some group data.
Only had a couple people who wanted to shoot the 10mm. Disappointed.

Yeah, there's a lot of myth generated by the gun press back in the day. The original Norma loading WAS hot as hell, I still have a couple of boxes of that stuff squirreled away somewhere, but the modern stuff is pretty moderate.

I guess the action of the slide bothers some people.

The modern 10mm ammo still has a fair bit more ass than standard 9/40/45 -- it's -very- clear in the reaction of the steel we shoot at, especially the dueling tree.

Oh, believe me, I know. But look up the original Norma loading. It kicks real ass.

I like my 19 gen3 with finger grooves but my first handgun is a P239 and the trigger on that is excellent and it has a German frame which they no longer do
but......my HK p2000 .40 is like a lexus, durable but with some style, perfect hand fit and a crisp trigger
that is what I take out into the woods
all of my handguns have trijicon green sights
speer gold dots in all, good enough for NYPD then good enough for me
although hornady makes top notch handgun ammo, I'd feel confident with that as well
