Those teachers are crazy. Our 14 year olds are not dating, did not go out without parents in tow to movies until last summer for the first time. We dropped them off at the movie and picked them up after the movie. We take them bowling,etc. One boy had a girl friend and the could "date" with a parent with them at all times.

Not all kids are having sex. They know about sex but certainly not deviant behavior.

Now I happen to agree with you. However, due to the medium we are communicating on, which can be accessed by all kinds of devices now, they are getting way ealier than the 9th grade. No way I am defending that, just pointing out what is the present reality. So, what do we do about it?

Limit your kids devices and access to the internet. Supervise them. Be a PARENT. RAISE your kids instead of just letting them grow up.

I just had a 9th grader who was arrested and is being charged with:

Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle
Petit Theft (less than $100)
Burglary of an occupied residence

And guess what? It's not a "bad school". I promise people that if you have a 9th grader--they know all about sex. All of them do. You should hear the songs they listen to, and what they know. Most parents are shocked when their sweet little kiddo does anything wrong. "Not my little Johnny/Sally! Never!" Yes yours. Your little girl was giving a BJ in the boy's bathroom, or jerking off a boy in the cafeteria while he was eating chicken fingers (those two things happened last school year).

Parents have NO CLUE what goes on in their kid's lives. And honestly the it's the "sheltered" kids that are the worse (even if their parents don't think so).

PS: I'm not a liberal--far from it.
