Saw an article yesterday where 4 IDF soldiers were wounded in an explosion along the border with Lebanon. Lebanese alleged they had crossed the border and the explosion was possibly a land mine. Now an interesting article in the LA Times saying that Israel has warned civilians that the next war will be the hardest ever as Hezbollah has 60,000-100,000 rockets with better accuracy, longer distance and increased payload. With the recent incident, does anyone think that Hezbollah is planning something or are they too tied down in Syria? How strong a response from Israel if the rockets started falling?

Surely, there will be a few rockets that make it here and there. But these rockets cannot carry devastating WMD's, therefore the damage will be minimal. Just imagine, if it's going to be a little hard on the Israelis, how hard it's going to be for the Hezbollah animals.

One thing we can all be certain of. Any attack on Israel will result in a retaliation with the death toll in Israel's favor.

I don't think Israel will embark on another Lebanese operation unless it is 100% sure it can bring Hezbollah to it's knees. The important difference this time, is that Iran and Syria cannot back Hezbollah up any longer, so they're on their own.

.......unless the Russians are stupid enough to continue supporting them all ?

Did anyone notice the bit about the Israelis crossing the border and being injured by a land mine?
In other words, they did it to themselves.

Bit of tough.

Roudy, MBJ, et al,

I tend to agree, that Israel will not conventionally engage Lebanese Forces or Hezbollah unless they present a serious exploitable vulnerability.

(POSSIBILITY)

Having 60-to-100 thousand rockets has its good points and its bad points. The good point for Hezbollah is that it makes Israel take the threat seriously. But the bad point is that such a huge number takes a considerable storage effort and maintenance program. There should be several different kinds, to include the SA-2 variants, FATAH-110, and Syrian M-600s, etc. And fixed storage and maintenance facilities have their own vulnerabilities. You can bet that IDF Military Intelligence is mapping every facility that could be used for that purpose; marking each target with a bullseye. They will be put under surveillance. If Hezbollah starts pulling them out for deployment, they will probably trigger the attack to destroy.

Most Respectfully,
R

Also, what most people don't know is that Israeli general population is a very well trained when it comes to any attack or all out war, with shelters and other facilities identifiable and easily accessible. All kinds of drills are done on a regular basis to ensure that civilians are always ready.

The next wars will be fought with rockets, because they are the choice of weapons of poor nations that do not have conventional forces. With the concentration of Israeli populations in a few major cities, it will be costly.

Israel is not capable of occupying Lebanon as the last skirmish with Hezbollah has shown. She can only bomb, and Hezbollah and Hamas will bomb...The big question is: will Syria and Iran and perhaps Russia join in?

It never ceases to amaze me. You arabs constantly thump your chests and brag about what's going to happen to Israel. May I remind you: '48, '56, '67 and '73. You get your butts kicked and then hold victory parades. I'm sure Israel is not sweating another "skirmish" with Hezbollah or any of their allies.

Sounds like Israel will soon be paying a visit to Lebanon.

Sounds like they're already visiting Lebanon. Maybe now that Hezbollah is tied up in Syria it would be a good time to bring them to their knees. But wait a minute...Sean Stone says they are not a terrorist organization...

At least get your facts straight...He said Hamas, even Prof. Chomsky would agree and many others who have visited them. I think they are terrorist freedom fighters, because this war they wage only kills their own civilians.

Yes Blood Rock...Israel with Lackey USA with AIPAC pressure and more so today, bailed out Israel in 67 and 73 with massive technological military hardware and subsidies (bribes) to her neighbors...One war, ten wars. The Arabs will keep losing until they win one, as they have in the past ME History of Crusaders, French, Brits, Italians, Turks and now Israel Time is their weapon of choice.

Without an acceptable peace, 1.4 billion Muslims plan to wait it out until Israel collapses inward from the constant pressure.

That is their plan.

I wonder if you feel the same when a Hamas animal prematurely detonates himself?

I don't agree with or support suicide bombings so, yes.
All I wish for is, they blow themselves up but hurt no one when they do it.

As for invading troops getting killed or injured, don't invade and it won't happen.
All Israeli troops are legitimate military targets as they're part of an invading force but this was a Darwin job.
Cross a border, enter a mine field and get blown up.
They should have died but one hopes their bollocks were blasted off so they're unable to breed.

Well I certainly hope that those Muslims who are so intolerant to others in the Middle East and elsewhere have something wrong with them that they can't breed so that they don't have children whom they teach to hate others as Fred does. As an aside, does anyone think that Freddie would wish dead all the Pakistani Muslim soldiers who helped the previous King of Jordan kill thousands and thousands of Palestinians during that incident known as Black September? Meanwhile, of course, Freddie closes his eyes to the Syrians (Muslims and Christians) who have crossed the border to be treated in Israeli hospitals because his fellow Muslims are busy killing and wounding each other plus innocent others in Syria. So tell us, Freddie, should Israel turn these wounded people back at the border?

Today's mental masturbation to the destruction of Israel post has been sponsored by Tide, Crest, Viagra, Cialis, and the CAIR Foundation.

But your hero suicide bombers rarely target troops and often target the most innocent of civilians.

One more reason why I don't support suicide bombers and one reason I don't support the IDF.
They target civilians as well.

Frankly, I wish both lots would go away and kill each other so the rest of the world can live in peace.
