The fact is guns do not shoot "Freedoms", they shoot bullets, and the only function thereof is intimidation (if it's not fired) or injury/death (if it is) --- which is after all exactly what it's designed for.

You don't win hearts and minds with intimidation and death, and Freedom is after all a state of mind. If you need the crutch of intimidation and death to declare "freedom", then you haven't won freedom at all; you've enslaved yourself into a conflict mentality -- which has no end.
