I feel about the same concerning Kaepernick and Lane as I did for Tebow praying in the end zone. NFL Football is entertainment. If it is controversial it has no place on the field. You can keep your religion and your political statements displayed somewhere else. Football players make enough money that they can donate some of their wealth to whatever causes they choose. They have limited "rights" using the name of the NFL to further their own causes. The field of play is not a "public" forum. Free speech does not apply to private property.

Unless he makes this "gift" to an accredited non profit charity He will be giving away nearly twice as much as he thinks because his income will be taxed at a very high rate so he will have to make more than a million and a half to be able to give away a million. He should just keep his mouth shut and do his sit down protest. Foolishly he is letting reporters goad him into making stupid promises. He doesn't OWE anyone ANYTHING to do his protest. He should tell these reporters to fuck off and mind their own business.

Maybe. It has been noted that I only see what I choose to see...especially about the Seahawks. That is what it is to be a "fan".... taken from the word "fanatic". How many fans have driven 200 miles just to watch a team practice? Not many..a handful actually. Only parents with kids ..Adults? Just me and my fellow fan Jay Craig. I'm not a typical fan. Does that mean I have some special knowledge about the team? No. A special passion? Most definitely.

Yes. He now MUST donate a million dollars or he is somehow a liar AND unpatriotic. I think he chose a stupid venue to do his protest frankly. The anthem is more about the military we honor than the police who sometimes kill blacks with no justification.

He has every right to defend blacks being killed without good cause. He should take his protest to the source of his anger which are the police and those in charge of police behavior. The NFL has no jurisdiction over the methods in which police train and govern the behavior of out of control cops. In that way he has angered people who have nothing to do with his protest.

I worked with a guy that drove from Bellingham to Cheney and was there for the training camp. I knew several guys that drove to the Raiders training camp in Santa Rosa. If I had my choice I'd rather go to Santa Rosa. Cheney is pretty bland.
