just because we can, should we?

In my area we already have line of sight cameras covering almost all of the interstates, bridges and some state highways. When you leave the interstate, you are picked up by the cameras that over half of our regional communities have. We have black boxes in our cars that record how fast you travel and your braking and acceleration activities in the minutes before and up to 30 seconds after a crash. We have computer and TV microphones that can be turned on by hackers or NSA. We have "phones" that track us to within inches of our location, and will even send advertisements for the car companies if you happened to walk through one of their dealers lots. There are programs that monitor what you type on websites and what websites you visit. And a host of other surveillance devices that monitor where you go, what you do and who you associate with.

Communist China is using their covid surveillance systems now to crack down on people who disagree with their government. In America if you disagree with the government it used to be considered your right to do so. Now you get cancelled and ostracized and maybe even fired from the employment you rely on to pay your bills and buy food for your family.

The rainbow deviant mentioned in the link I provided is an avowed ally of the socialists and believes that we should have even more technology intrusions into our lives. Total control is what these people believe in, perhaps you think a traffic ticket is no big deal, but technology has never once been limited or restricted by government once they find away to intrude into your life and extract money from you, or remove more of your freedom and privacy. And the next time you are late for work or rushing to the hospital to arrive before a loved one dies, just remember. Petey butt plug is watching you and wants to take your money and maybe even shut off your vehicle from 1,000 miles away.

And heaven forbid you have ever publicly criticized these people or their disgusting ideologies. They really don't like that.

You can thank both parties for doing this to us, yet for some reason, you will support one of the two parties in power...

It would come in handy nailing some of the hit-and-run assholes. But I agree it’s a slippery slope.

Just look at all the people caught doing stuff on video these days.

Most of the video is from private businesses who use cams to secure their place of business.

even in a rural area you have to assume you are on camera...ring cameras are everywhere...my hubby always gets upset when he finds me flipping off cameras in public areas...i get that act your age shit...i am acting my age..i live when this shit didnt exist back in the day when dinosaurs roamed the earth

Not a big fan of surveillance but I absolutely detest speeders. Conflicted.

I have no trouble with it being used to fine speeders, but what about all the abuses that could come along with that kind of surveillance?

plus, even with the speeding thing, I foresee a lot of glitches. What if someone is borrowing your car? What if you sold your car, but the database still lists it was belonging to you?

I lived back then too. I will sometimes flip off one of the line of site cameras, who knows in ten years a maybe a robot will show up at my door and cut off my middle finger. 😁 I'm very glad I got to live most of my life without all of this bull**it of tracking my every move and watching my every action or keeping track of who I associate with. neither party will speak to this, and if it is brought up in a public forum where lawmakers are present both parties will spit out the tin foil hat insult. But the evidence is all around us, we are building a national prison where we are going to be monitored 24/7.

One argument these people will use is: If you don't do anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about. Well who decides what's wrong and what's right? Who would have thought that speaking out against people who want to convince our little boys to mutilate themselves would be considered an act of terrorism?

You can contest any ticket. You can send a letter to the relevant authority and they will adjust the fine.

The MN Supreme court shut down speeding cameras here for that very reason.
But the damn highways are like NASCAR.
