It's up to Ukrainian government. They have a choice:
a) to leave Kharkov and declare it "open city" - and then the Russians capture it undamaged. (Same way as the Russians did with Kherson) ;
b) to fight in it, and then, the city will be definitely destroyed (as it was in Bakhmut and Avdiivka).

Do you remember the story about Judgement of Solomon? The true mother would prefer to see her city occupied, not destroyed.
But, we all know, that Kievan Junta is not the "true mother". They do not love Russians and Russian-speaking people of Kharkov, they do not love poor Ukrainian soldiers. All what they love - is American money. "Show must go on... " and all that crap.

It means that you guys don't have a solution.
Because as American people (of European, Asian and African origin) won't agree to "decolonize North America" (i.e. to be genocided by Latino- and Native Americans), and would prefer a nuclear war, same way the Russians will rather start a nuclear war (especially now, when they have the significant nuclear advantage).
