Bush held the Nixon "Crazy Motherfucker" card. He could be unpredictable and a cowboy. No other President has held that card since Nixon. If anything would have stopped Assad from using chem warfare or even putting down the civil war, it was that. Add the fact that Bush had an army next door in Irag, and it is highly unlikely Assad would want to piss off Bush. One more thing, Syria was allowing both Syrian and foriegn fighters to cross it's borders and assist the insurgents, so Bush would have very little problem implementing an invasion of Syria. I've often wondered why he didn't build up forces in Irag and use it as a staging area to either weaken or totaly take out Syria and Iran. He could have done it early in the war, claiming the WMD weapons had been moved to Syria and the support and aid from Iran to the Shite militia's were killing US soldiers and taking away the short lived victory in Irag. I have thoughts on why he didn't, but am convinced he could have played that "crazy motherfucker card" and turned the military on those two antagonist.

The reasons stated in the article might be a little shaky, but all in all he's right.

If Bush was POTUS, the situation in Syria would not be happening. The Muslim Brotherhood would still be an obscure sect, Mubarak would still be in Egypt, and the American taxpayer wouldn't be sending the MB billions of dollars.

Only the most brain-dead partisan hack reprobate couldn't see this plain fact.

Obama has meddled with Middle east MORE than any President (not one word from his followers how we are creating MORE TERRORIST , we can't be the policemen of the world, etc) and has turned it into one big hornets nest...we need to ask ourselves WHY?
