This is a further sign of the impending apocalypse, brought to you by the Dumbing Down of America.

President Biden and his Democratic allies have cast his reelection campaign as a battle for the country’s survival, warning that a second Donald Trump presidency would present an existential threat to American democracy.

In speeches and campaign ads, Biden points to Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, his incitement of an angry mob that ransacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and the former president’s boasts that he will use the powers of his office to punish his political enemies.

But that message may not be resonating with the voters Biden needs in order to win another term in the White House.

In six swing states that Biden narrowly won in 2020, a little more than half of voters classified as likely to decide the presidential election say threats to democracy are extremely important to their vote for president, according to a poll by The Washington Post and the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University.

Yet, more of them trust Trump to handle those threats than Biden. And most believe that the guardrails in place to protect democracy would hold even if a dictator tried to take over the country.

....................,warning that a second Donald Trump presidency would present an existential threat to American democracy.
That's the Dems biggest playing card and probably their only one.

But

Trump's success is based on the fact that the American people have been promised something different time after time and it's always been lies. Now it's a question of whether they will accept the same lies from Trump again?

Biden has to get through this cleanly, without going to sleep, passing out, or dropping dead. That's all that will matter in this pretend debate.

Compare Trump's 4 years to Bidens 4 years. Are you telling me Biden has done a better job at protecting America and American citizens? Do you really believe the "Trump will be a dictator" narrative"? Who just thumbed their nose at the Supreme Court to buy votes? THAT is the act of a dictator.

We have a 4 year track record for each President. Americans are voting for Trump because they liked his 4 years better than Biden's.

biden just doesnt do much to make one feel safe....and thats on the democrats for letting this guy go forward...

It's just that better might not be enough. The American working class voters who are the majority are still getting fkd by the system. That's what it's all about and so both of them are promising a change from the American way of greedy capitalism.
Now it only depends on which liar the people believe.

Neither president changed that in their 4 years.

Biden has at least come up with some gifts and free stuff, but free candy and ice cream hasn't help the working class get out of the poverty hole.

In any case, if Trump hints that he's going to interfere with the war against Russia, there's no way the establishment will allow hin to be the president again. It's only a matter of how they do it?

"a little more than half of voters classified as likely to decide the presidential election" I say good luck with that bs to those who would give much weight to this in early summer of a presidential race year.

If Biden can get through the 90 minutes without a noticable FU, I'm afraid he will be the eventual winner.

If he Fs Ups in a noticable enough way to prove out the rumours on him being practically comatose, then it's almost guaranteed clear sailing for Trump from now on.

the die hard lefties will say biden won even if he didnt, and the die hard righties will say trump won even if he didnt....same old debate story....besides this one is all about who is the most senile.....just wait till friday you will see...

And most believe that the guardrails in place to protect democracy would hold even if a dictator tried to take over the country.
There is only one guardrail remaining in America and that's a bullet.

That's tradional. It doesn't matter whether it's on behalf of protecting democracy or protecting a dictator.

The people always see it as protecting two choices of democracy.

Ref: The people chose Hitler's style of democracy.

or

The people chose Putin's or Reagan's style of democracy.

So you see now why it's down to only one guardrail left to protect democracy?

People have noticed Biden and his team are trying hard to put his political opponent in prison for the rest of his life. They've also notice they are trying to keep all competition off of the ballot this fall.

Devasting for Biden, you and the other fascists, yes?

It's only for the sake of the election. After the election, if Biden wins, he will pardon Trump for everything he's allowed to pardon.

That is because bringing the divided American people back together is the most important priority by far.

And then, America has a war to win.

If Trump won, he would likely do the same. Except that, Trump won't be allowed to win.

Nope.

Nope. He's done everything in his power to keep us divided the past four years. Why do you think he'll change his stripes now?

Trump will overwhelm the # of voted so the Dems can't cheat their pay out of this election.

Trump's MAGA Jan 6. People indicted, tried, convicted.

You see that the story is that even though you and boyberg and your cohorts spam this and every site like this.
constantly with the "trump is a threat to Democracy" nonsense, no one is buying it.

Economy sure, Border sure, everyone expects President Trump to destroy Biden on those.

But protecting Democracy?

Your singular chance at success.

That's gotta be like a huge knife, right in the heart.
