No, not really. There's little or no evidence to suggest the Alamo defenders even flew the try-color 1824 flag over the mission, let alone that they were fighting for the Mexican Constitution. Battles with the Mexican Army previous to the Alamo would tend to discredit that idea. So would the Constitutional Convention meeting at Washington on the Brazos at the very same time and the Texas Declaration of Independence adopted four days before the Alamo fell, but during the cannonade which preceded the final assault.
