In a Republic, actually
“AUSTIN -- Gov. Greg Abbott has signed the state's sanctuary city ban into law, achieving one of his major legislative goals for the session and putting into statute a bill that is almost certainly on its way to legal challenges from opponents.”

Gov. Greg Abbott signs 'sanctuary cities' ban into law on Facebook Live | Texas Politics | Dallas News

This is as hateful and as un-Constitutional as it is a ridiculous myth:

“Just as there is no city in America that is off-limits to the Internal Revenue Service or the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the reality is that there no place in this country where illegal immigrants can hide from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”

OPINION | Sanctuary cities are myths that serve political purpose

So, how is this un-Constitutional?

A nation enforcing its borders is not racist you nitwit. :D

sanctuary cities have no legal standing other than by CUSTOM-----
(sorta) customarily DOCTORS do not "turn illegals" in for REASON---
to avoid the possibility that an illegal would avoid medical care for himself
or his child-------it is a GOOD CUSTOM and LEGAL IMHO. I do not
see how states can withstand federal mandated security protocols

You're a fool. Following the law isn't bigotry. No other nation on earth has an open border. Especially Mexico. Grow the fuck up. We ain't buying your shit.

Are you suggesting that the opponents to the legislation have some absolute right?

*****SMILE*****

:)

I think the title is his whole argument, more name calling and no substance.

So we're to use more substance when addressing a crock of shit post?

The law would require local law enforcement to cooperate with immigration officials.

It would be nice, but it will be challenged and you know how the courts are.

Also, there's this:

"Terri Burke, executive director of the ACLU of Texas said in a prepared statement. "We will fight this assault in the courts, at the ballot box, and in the streets if we have to."

Because he says so! Nanner-nanner.

They have no constitutional leg to stand on. Sovereignty belongs to the State in this case, not the cities, counties and other localities. Local government only has the power given to it via home rule laws and constitutional provisions.
