Gov. is expected to sign as early as tonight.....repealing the law.

The Arizona Senate passed a repeal of the state’s near-total ban on abortion on Wednesday, capping a weekslong legislative scramble to respond to the state Supreme Court’s bombshell ruling that upheld the law from 1864.

The bill, which the state House approved last week, will soon head to Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs. Hobbs said she expects to sign the bill as early as Wednesday night.

Two state Senate Republicans — Shawnna Bolick and T.J. Shope — joined all 14 Democrats in the narrowly divided chamber in approving a repeal of the Civil War-era law that held the power to send a doctor to prison for providing nearly any kind of abortion care.

With the support of those two Republican senators, Democrats in the chamber quickly overcame procedural hurdles and swiftly moved to vote.

NOTE: This is the way it is supposed to work. There is no Federal role in abortion. The representatives of the People in each State decide what they want the policy to be, and set it forth in legislation.

This is the very reason why RvW was unconstitutional, and Dobbs set things straight.

Pay no attention to what you hear from the Leftists about abortion. It is a pack of lies.

Abortion Rights are a civil rights issues...as such, they are in the purview of the Federal--if the Federal Govt. chooses.
Your way would have states able to enact Jim Crow laws..not that you'd mind that, eh?

Dobbs didn't rule that there can be no federal role in abortion. They ruled it wasn't a Constitutional right.

Oh my gosh!! Look at that.. the people’s voice.. working!!

Good. Worth remembering that, other than 3 GOP House reps and 2 GOP state senators, the entire state GOP was in favor of keeping this dog shit law on the books.
I am very surprised only two GOP members supported the repeal. Thats...weird, especially given how big of an issue it is.

Individuals know best how to conduct their private lives, not the state.
