Is the Main Stream Media on the decline, well apparently if you read and understand the implications of the following.

Red Sox principal owner John Henry has reached an agreement to purchase the Boston Globe from the New York Times Company for $70 million, reports the Associated Press. The deal gives him the 141-year-old newspaper, its website and related assets.

“The Boston Globe's award-winning journalism as well as its rich history and tradition of excellence have established it as one of the most well-respected media companies in the country,” Henry said in a statement while acknowledging the “essential role that its journalists and employees play in Boston, throughout New England, and beyond.”

The Times put the Globe up for sale in February, saying it would allow the company to focus on the New York Times brand. The Times purchased the Globe for a record $1.1 billion back in 1993. The cash sale is expected to close in 30-60 days.

$70 million in 2013 when in 1993 it was valued at $1.1 billion? I am guessing the voting public just doesn't want a liberal view point even in Boston...Simply amazing.

On behalf of the New York Times, which is indeed run by turds, the internet likely had more to do with a drop in price than its liberal leanings. After all, Boston is still filled up with Liberals who like to read about Liberals and liberal stuff.

That's the dumbest analysis I've ever heard.

Between 2000-and 2003 FOX dropped in value over 50% - was that because of the groundswell of liberal support those times? LOL.

Correlation != Causation

What has this got to do with a decline of the MSM? What do you think John Henry's motivation was in buying the Globe? Newspapers everywhere are suffering from a lack of print readership.

I don't get the point of the O/P either. A sports club owner buys a newspaper and the O/P thinks it has something to do with a decline in the MSM?
