NBC's Steve Kornacki Throws Cold Water on Kamala Harris' Chances

Joe Biden’s presidency is over. It’s now a half-dead vessel, much like the man himself, but Democrats appear overjoyed that Vice President Kamala Harris is taking the 2024 Democratic mantle, though it’s not like Joe had much choice. He had to back Harris if he bowed out. The disunity he sowed by remaining in the race led to an unprecedented fracturing of the party not seen since 1968. Harris is the only person who could legally inherit his war chest. If he couldn’t run for a second term, maybe he could work on bringing the party back together. Harris’ ascension has led to over $250 million in donations, another damning sign that Biden likely would have run out of juice in the final and most critical phase of the 2024 election.

Yet, NBC’s Steve Kornacki threw cold water on the Harris candidacy, namely that she’s untested. She dropped out before the start of the primaries in 2020; Tom Steyer’s campaign lasted longer than hers. She’s also equally unpopular as Biden and owns the same record. Kornacki noted that “hope” more than numbers is inflating Democrats’ hopes of keeping the White House in November.

Harris is by far a worse candidate than lunchpail/scranton joe.
She starts out a -9 in the states that will decide the election.
She will get a slight bump at the beginning and one at the convention (if it is still her)

She is very unlikely to win.

Virtually half of the American voting population (a) would never vote for Trump, or (b) would vote for any Democrat, regardless of who it is, or their qualifications and fitness.

Talk of a landslide, or that Harris has no chance of winning are wishful thinking.

The election will be decided by who has the best organization in big cities in the critical Swing States. Just like last time.

The duopoly has seen to it, thought, that only two parties are functionally available to vote for and the two candidates it is providing are disastrously poor.

You are aware that we vote for a team - ?

Whether you like the actual candidate or not, you vote for those people that will come with them.

You know that, right.

Unlikely?
More like she has zero chance of winning.

I don't believe that. History shows that if they could fake 81 million votes for comatose Joe Biden running from his garage, they will manage to give Trump a run for his money with Kamaltoe.

Trump is pretty much a known quantity. The question is what he does now here in with his "second life" after nearly being assassinated. Will he be New Trump or Old Trump?

The other variable of course is Kamelo. She is virtually unknown to the public.
  • Will many of the undecided just go with her rather than another term with Trump?
  • Will events here on in give voters a more positive impression of her or a more /negative/ one?
Like Trump, she carries a lot of baggage, but isn't nearly as good at sloughing it off. As usual, the more informed the voter, the better for the GOP; the less, the better for the democrats. I think the debates ought to be reset to zero and Trump and her have TWO debates.

That's correct. So look to the dems to lie, cheat, and steal in their attempt.

Still using Townhall.com for what passes for your "wisdom"?

So far, your party's response to Kamala Harris is to declare her a "DEI candidate", and to call her "unqualified". Given that neither of your candidates have ANY qualifications for high office other than being rich white men, calling the most talented VP in decades a "DEI candidate" shows that Republicans have NOTHING.

Excellent point. ....

The Dems are all over Twitter/TikTok trying to act like she's the best new thing. As if she didn't get destroyed at their own primary a few years ago and humiliated to the point that she had to bow out.

It will die down. They feel like they are brought back from the brink but in reality, they are stuck with the full Biden agenda. And people hate it.

Do you think ANYONE cares what you think from Canada?

Seriously, why are you here?

The $100 million that Democrat donors stopped sending after the debate and just held on to.

It'll be $2 million by the end of the day. Plus 30,000+ people volunteered to work on her campaign.

Campaign workers didn't have to support any "stolen election" lies to work for the party, or declare loyalty to the candidate.

Trump doesn't have a ground game. They closed all of the campaign offices and fired the workers. Most weren't "loyal" to Trump and refused to say that the 2020 election was stolen.

If all you have is lies, your worthless candidate's campaign will be toast by September.

Trump having been president before isn't a legitimate qualification for high office except being a white man?
You brain dead racists judge everyone based on skin color.

There is no doubt that Kamala has an uphill battle. Trump is the favorite to win and she has her work cut out for her. It is far from impossible for her to win. The good news is that she is running against Donald Trump. Trump is his own worst enemy and will soon remind everyone why he was kicked out of office in 2020. I would also add that Townhall as well as Trump make the mistake of comparing the Kamala of 2020 to 2024. The dynamics are far different as is her confidence.
