North Dakota close to banning abortions at 6 weeks

"Supporters said their goal is to challenge the Supreme Court's 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized abortion up until a fetus is considered viable, usually at 22 to 24 weeks, though anti-abortion activists elsewhere have expressed concern about the strategy."

There are a few states limiting abortiin. Roe was bad law. A lot of legal scholars think it should be overturned and the issue returned to the states.

North Dakota has already effectively banned abortion

They have only one clinic in the whole state

I guess they think that's one too many.

It is. Abortion isn't a state issue. It's a moral issue. Should it be dealt with legally on the local level? Yes. Just like any other murder. But it should be effectively made illegal in all 50 states. Good for North Dakota.

Well, they have been wanting to ditch the "North" from their name. Maybe they can change the name to Dakotastan
