I got an email last week. I can preview my emails without clicking. It was longer, but I read it. The guy said he was replacing all the mods because he didn't like censorship.

As a joke, I opened the email from my campus library, and asked what the mod position pays. Told me the salary is negotiable.

Oh I worked construction....we always joked about the "layoff list".
Some guys were job scared....I and many others were not. We knew that a layoff might get us as much as two weeks off maximum. But we all saved money to cover ourselves for these layoffs. Then we would be right back out to work again.
But newbies wouldn't get the whole construction game of layoffs and rehires. They only knew the current job.
Us veterans would always want to be on the list....it meant vacation. Yahoo! But we also knew we likely weren't on the list. (If the superintendent actually made one) He had a budget of man hours and a number he could keep. It's always not personal....just bodies and hours.

On some jobs in the fall....there would be a problem versus "indoor" jobs. If we got a call to our winter indoor job we would quit long before we could get laid off. (Who would want to get stuck working outside during winter)
Seen a few disappointed fireman's looks when I'd tell them I'm dragging up for my winter job.

I got a notification about this forum being under new ownership. I often ignore such things, but it was detailed and mentioned things that only an owner might know. It seems legit, but then they offered me a mod position. Lol
