you can watch the Chicago Bears at the Buffalo Bills on the NFL Network today at 1pm ET. Josh Allen and all the starters for the Bills will play today. I believe my Buffalo Bills will win the Super Bowl this season.

I doubt any of the front line starters will see much in the way of any action. It's just not done this early. Preseason is about seeing what scrubs can contribute what to your team effort and weeding out the ones who can't.

And I believe the Bills will gag and choke yet again this season. It's just in their team nature. They are snakebit.

There used to be six preseason games and the starters played in them all

Now there are three with the starters sitting out.

What is proven if my third string players beat your fourth string players?

Time to end them

I would be for two preseason games in order for the coaches to see how the scrubs fit into their team dynamic.
Then a simulated, pads on game for the regulars...then GO!!!

The NFL right now is all about milking every last dime out of the product Trying to extend the season. And the product is starting to suffer because
your best players are getting injured often.

The worst thing is that the NFL charges season ticket holders the same as for a regular season game.

You get to watch a game with players who will not even make the team.

If a third string player performs well against nonstarters…..what does that prove?

There was a time they did not charge for pre-season games many decades ago. When they started to people were very angered from it. You still hear complaints as the prices of tickets have risen along with parking.

Caleb Williams looks like he’s going to be good

You could be right? Looks like only a ~25% hit rate?

  • 2018: 5 (Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, Josh Rosen, Lamar Jackson). One of the most quarterback-heavy first rounds in recent memory. Mayfield, Darnold, Allen and Rosen all went in the top 10 before Jackson went to the Baltimore Ravens with the No. 32 pick, which turned out to be an absolute steal for them.
  • 2019: 3 (Kyler Murray, Daniel Jones, Dwayne Haskins). Murray went to the Arizona Cardinals with the No. 1 pick, choosing the NFL over MLB. Jones (No. 6) and Haskins (No. 15) also went in the first half of the draft.
  • 2020: 4 (Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Herbert, Jordan Love). Burrow, Tagovailoa and Herbert were all top-six picks, while Love surprisingly went to the Green Bay Packers with the 26th pick (much to Aaron Rodgers’ chagrin). All four of these quarterbacks have already appeared in the postseason.
  • 2021: 5 (Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Justin Fields, Mac Jones). Another quarterback-heavy first round. Lawrence, Wilson and Lance went with the top-three picks, followed by Fields at No. 11 and Jones at No. 15. While all have shown promise at various points, Lawrence is the only one to enjoy sustained success at the NFL level.
  • 2022: 1 (Kenny Pickett). One of the weirder quarterback drafts in recent years, as Pickett was the lone quarterback taken in the first two rounds at No. 20 overall. He put together two uneven seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason. Brock Purdy, who was taken with the last pick in the draft, has surprisingly been the best quarterback of this class.
  • 2023: 3 (Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Anthony Richardson). Last year marked a return to normalcy as three QBs went in the top-four picks. The trio has been a mixed bag so far, but Stroud already looks like a star after winning Offensive Rookie of the Year and leading the Houston Texans to the playoffs.

Lamar needs to learn to play in the pocket if the other team (KC) boxes him in. Trevor is borderline great. Anthony Richardson might be? Jordan Love is off to great start. The rest in bold are top shelf. Purdy? Maybe? Goff? Yes.

I think Herbert and Tua are good nfl quarterbacks

Anyone else baffled by the Falcons giving (torn achilles out of shape, weak in prime time, older Cousins)? $220+ million over 4 years?

AND drafted old college QB to sit and watch? Even though he will be ~31 if Cousins lasts? Wash QB looks ready now. And has pocket mobility.

Now if they win 12 games 3 yrs in a row and the SB, I’ll delete the post. But come on…,,WTH?

I feel like Cousins used to be underrated, now he’s overrated. Ever since he did that QB series on Netflix the guy gets all this praise. I think he’s a middle of the road quarterback and nothing more.

I may be too quick to dump off Kyler Murray too? AZ made late season run when he finally got going.

Also the Saints won 9 games with Carr played like crap the first half. Maybe he is good? But not great.

Will CLEVE finally get Watson going? Ir he can keep it in the pants long enough?

Dude I was high on Kyler Murray a couple years ago, but he hasn’t been able to stay healthy. If he’s healthy I can see him being a good quarterback. I like his skill set of being able to scramble and have a big arm. The only thing is he’s a little small.

AZ played better down the stretch I thought? but stll finished 4-13. They were competitive in most of those last 5-6 games. Murray was in there, finally healthy.

There were rumors that he wants to try baseball, but I’m sure if that’s true. I know he was a big time baseball prospect at one point.

AZ drafted Marvin Harrison…..”cant miss wideout”. Should have instant impact.

That said, when QB, LT, #1Rec, #1rusher eats up $200million of payroll…..how long can the game survive? They have a CAP too. Kelce makes half of a Wideout but who has more impact? And TE blocks as good as OL while on the run.

Money is going to destroy the NFL. These players sign on the line……then 12 games later they will sit out. “I’m worth more, just like so-so got”. It kills me. But I like to bet on it in game, quarter by quarter, almost every game.

The highlight of 2023 had to be 3pick6 DAL DAK down 41-16 at home to GB in a playoff game! Watching Jerry in the box….priceless.
