President Trump is nearing his first 100 days in office, and he could have little to show for it. That may be why he's publicly downplayed the significance of the first 100 days, tweeting that it's a "ridiculous standard" by which to judge presidents. But to judge whether Trump really fell short of that standard, it's worth looking back at what President Obama did in his first 100 days.

Obama only signed a few major pieces of legislation during the first 100 days of his first term, but they were big ones. The most notable was the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act — that is, the stimulus package. This was an $831 billion investment package, which Obama proposed as a means of stopping the economic bleed caused by the financial crisis. It authorized funding for infrastructure, unemployment benefits, low-income housing, Medicaid, and more. Five years after its passage, conservative and liberal economists agreed that, broadly speaking, it was a success.

Obama signed two other big pieces of legislation during his first 100 days: The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and the Children's Health Insurance Reauthorization Act of 2009. The first law attempted to tackle the gender pay gap by extending the statute of limitations with regard to equal pay lawsuits — that is, making it easier for women to sue employers for paying them less than their male counterparts. The second piece of legislation authorized $35 billion in health care spending, thus expanding health care to around 4 million American children.
These are huge legislative accomplishments. What's even more remarkable is that Obama signed all three bills within one month of taking office.

What Did Obama Do In His First 100 Days? He Signed Some Big Pieces Of Legislation

..it's soooo funny watching Trump whine about the 'first 100 days' being a meaningless benchmark after detailing what he'll do in those first 100 days at stump speeches for months and months.....typical hypocrisy from the righties

Democrats are left wing morons....they worship big government...so anything that promotes increasing the size and control of government they will vote lockstep on.....Republicans....have a contingent of people who believe in freedom and limited government...so they aren't going to go along with increasing the power and evil of the government.....so that always limits what a Republican President can do....

That is why you morons are so dangerous, and why Republicans are held to the standard set by the founders......

Drumpf has spent his time signing worthless pieces of paper because he and his crack collection of lepers thought a president get's to be dictator. Sorry Charlie. The courts have reigned in his blatant abuse of power because the Republicans in Congress are too busy getting tiny-hands a coke when he buzzes them.

Him and his stupid EO's. Just one more thing he and the trumpkins lie about. Neither he nor they seem to have a clue what an Executive Order really is.

Trump is a moron
Yet he beat the fat bitch your party nominated.
Not by vote count
That doesn't matter, winning the Presidency is based on Electoral Votes. Take a civics class.
It's also not to be based of foreign sabotage and domestic treason. Take a civics class.
Oh go have a good cry for the next 8 years. You LOST!!!

You're wrong.

We all lost. Our country lost.

You sold out your own country because you wanted a dictator telling you want to do.

You're "thinking"? Did it make your head hurt? I have read some of your posts, you are incapable of intelligent thoughts.

Misery? Nah it's been hard work but Trump has been stopped at every turn. I'll admit I'm still worried about Trump's race towards nuclear holocaust though.

Interesting chart. It says that Obama averaged 33.1 EO's per year of his presidency, and a lot of conservatives were screaming that Obama was ruling like a dictator because of all his EO's.

Got news for you, Trump has surpassed Obama's average already in his first 100 days with 43.
