Obama Quotes - and other gems from Democrats

Obama, July 2011: "What we've said was, give us $1.2 Trillion in additional revenues. Which could be accomplished without hiking taxes--uh--tax rates, but could simply be accomplished by eliminating loopholes, eliminating some deductions, and--uh--engaging in a tax reform process that could have lowered rates generally while broadening the base."

(but now $800 billion isn't possible because the math doesn't add up)

No one has had better quotes than Republicans.

Rick Santorum: Saying the Republican Party has no smart people to a cheering crowd.

Romney saying fewer police, firemen and teachers to a cheering crowd.

Santorum saying: Obama is a snob for wanting Americans to have an education.

A Republican crowd shouting "let him die" during the presidential debates.

You couldn't make this stuff up.

Produce the full quote or STFU.

And yes you can and by all accounts did just make all that stuff up.

"We will reach out to all who share our views."

George W. Bush on the occasion of his inauguration for his second term.

Oh, I'm sorry . . . he is a REPUBLICAN, isn't he?

What is wrong with that quote?

Shouldn't everyone reach out to those that share their views? Obama certainly does.

Still waiting for Obama to address those "hard choices" he mentioned in his first inaugural address, the ones he said we'd failed to make as a nation, the ones he earlier castigated Bush for not making, calling Bush unpatriotic.

Hoping Obama will show his patriotism soon ....

Obama: "I Am Constrained By A System That Our Founders Put In Place" | RealClearPolitics

One last thing I’m going to mention is that during this conversation -- I hope you don't mind me quoting you, Joe. Joe Garcia, I thought, also made an important point, and that is that the opponents of some of these common-sense laws have ginned up fears among responsible gun owners that have nothing to do with what’s being proposed and nothing to do with the facts, but feeds into this suspicion about government.

You hear some of these quotes: “I need a gun to protect myself from the government.” “We can't do background checks because the government is going to come take my guns away.”

Well, the government is us. These officials are elected by you. They are elected by you. I am elected by you. I am constrained, as they are constrained, by a system that our Founders put in place. It’s a government of and by and for the people.

And from 2005:

And if someone wants to know why their own government has decided to go on a fishing expedition through every personal record or private document - through library books they've read and phone calls they've made - this legislation gives people no rights to appeal the need for such a search in a court of law. No judge will hear their plea, no jury will hear their case.

This is just plain wrong.

2006, Biden says we shouldn't trust leadership who would do what they're doing:

"I don’t have to listen to your phone calls to know what you’re doing. If I know every single phone call you made, I’m able to determine every single person you talk to, I can get a pattern about your life that is very, very intrusive. And the real question here is: What do they do with this information that they collect that does not have anything to do with al Qaeda?

"This idea that no court will review, no Congress will know and we’re going to trust the president and the vice president of the United States, that they’re doing the right thing, don’t count me in on that."

Post 'em if you got 'em!

"Good evening. Tonight, I can report to the American people and to the world, the United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of al Qaeda, and a terrorist who's responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent men, women, and children."

Maxine Waters

3. Socializing oil companies: Back in 2008, Waters was lecturing oil company executives at a congressional hearing when she plainly stated her true intentions: “Guess what this liberal would be all about? This liberal would be about socializing … uh, umm. … Would be about, basically, taking over, and the government running all of your companies.”
She would also like all Tea Party members to go to hell and her Republican constituents in Congress to walk the plank.

Nothing wrong with nationalizing the oil companies,. Why should the resources of this country belong to corporations? It works pretty well for Norway. Socialism? Sure, so is social security and medicare and freedom loving republican tea baggers would scream bloody murder if the government would lay its hands on their social security and medicare.
