Obama worried about the future of the Republican Party

You are right...Obama should just say they dug their own grave and let them fill it

But he understands the American political system and the role two parties play in it

Would Republicans be so magnanimous?
You are changing the subject. This is about what obama said, not about what republicans in general might say.

I created the subject and it is about the current state of the Republican Party which even Obama points out is pretty shaky
I see. As the OP, when you can't hold up your end of your subject argument, you create a new subject. Pretty shaky!

Our Presidents sentiments are pretty clear

Trump is far from an ideal candidate and will cause serious harm to the party

He's wrong about that like he is wrong about almost everything else.

Much of Trumps party feels the same way including both the Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader

Screw the Republican establishment. The Republican voter base wanted Trump and we got him.

Obama: "Even liberals "want the Republican nominee to be somebody who could do the job if they win," Obama said. "And you want folks who understand the issues."

Buyers Remorse?

Hillary can't do the job. She's failed in every single executive job she's held.

What issues is he talking about? Public corruption to enhance the fortunes of her family?

Absolutely not.

Trump all the way.

More mythology from the rightwing echo chamber

Hillary is the most qualified candidate for President by a wide margin. She is the most qualified candidate since George H W Bush in 1988

Not even close

Kasich has never served in the Executive Branch
Has he ever even BEEN to the White House

It's heartwarming how the President of the United States opens up to a comedian on late night television. He is concerned for republicans. In front of other audiences, Obama calls republicans the enemy. To borrow a line from Hamlet, methinks the lady doth protest too much.

Enemy?

Which only serves to highlight the dysfunction in the Republican Party that the OP spoke to.

Funny coming from a Hillary supporter.

Promoting that bullshit again?

Hillary got to the WH because she married Bill.

By your standards, Barbara and Laura Bush have as much Executive Experience as Hillary.

So does Michelle Obama.

They weren't 'elected' nor were they 'appointed' to their positions in the WH.

It's something that happened because of their husbands.

It is more than just winning elections

Obama tells Jimmy Fallon he's 'worried' about the Republican Party

President Obama says Democrats are only too happy to run against Donald Trump, but he is personally "worried" about the fate of the Republican Party.

"This country works when you have two parties that are serious and trying to solve problems," Obama told Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon. "And they've got philosophical differences and they have fierce debates and they argue and they contest elections."

Indicating that Trump is not a serious candidate, Obama said that what has happened in the Republican Party "is not actually good for the country as a whole. It's not something Democrats should wish for."

Obama's right. But after Donald Trump I doubt the Republican Party will still exist. The Republican party has been shattered into pieces by the Reich wing of the party--aka Tea party--anti establishment groupies, and there's no coming back from this. We have half of the Republican party that will be voting for Hillary Clinton in 2016.

We're headed back to the days 1950-1960's where Democrats own everything, and Republicans will be forced to vote for blue dog Democrats.

Kasich, Walker, Bush would have been better choices based on experience.

O'Malley and Webb, even Bernie, were better choices than Hillary, based on experience.

This is the MOST dysfunctional election I've seen in 50 years.

and will be the first one since 1968 that I won't be voting for a presidential candidate.

Hillary spent eight years in the White House as First Lady. Even THAT experience provided her with more exposure to White House procedures and relations with Congress than any current Republican

By the way....you selected a reality TV star

The biggest problem for the republicans is the media monster they created which limits the ability to vet new ideas and holds politicians to a strict party line

The rightwing media has created a demon they call Liberals and the Democratic party. How can any Republican compromise with a demon?
