In the late 1800s the rural Midwest was a hotbed of populism that fed the Progressive Era reforms in the early 20th century, led by such stalwarts as Robert “Fighting Bob” LaFollette (R-Wisconsin). Compare to Paul “Little Shit” Ryan today.
Below, an interesting and well written article that bemoans how the new "robber barons" have actually been idolized by the uneducated right wing movement.......If you had any doubts about the orange charlatan's brand of "populism", just look at the cabinet that the Trumpster has surrounded himself with.....if there is any sanity in that cabinet, it surprisingly rests with the military picks and certainly not with trump's fellow millionaires.
