The Second Amendment is clear. It states that the people have a right to keep and bear arms, and it forbids government from infringing this right.

One cannot honestly claim to support the Second Amendment, and at the same time, support any efforts by government to interfere with the people's exercise of the right which it affirms. To support any such infringements—no matter how “reasonable” one might claim or believe those infringements to be—is to be against the Second Amendment.
