Police raid felt like home invasion

There are mistakes and there are mistakes. A mistake is filing something under "A" when it should have been filed under "L". That's a mistake.

Following up on a reliable tip, and kicking down the door when they don't comply with directives is an unfortunate thing.

Point was, they were looking for a child rapist. Someone doesn't answer the door, what were they supposed to do, exactly?

Suppose the rapist had been in there? With a child.

Then you'd be whining about how the cops didn't do their job.

What they are supposed to do is go back to the book, read it and follow the protocols contained in the book. It's not like cops never had someone refuse to answer the door before. It happens frequently. Suppose the rapist had been in there with a child? Well, suppose there's no rapist and no child? The odds are, there's no rapist and no child. In this ENTIRE action, all the apartments searched, there was no rapist and no child.

They weren't following up on shit...they had no reason to think he was in there other than the fact they refused to open the door AFTER the nazi put a gun with a laser on it aimed at the woman washing dishes..she thought he was a damn robber I would have done the same thing...next time try knocking on a door say who you are and more than likely they will allow you in. They had no warrant either so violation of 4th amendment...scum like you need help. They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.Benjamin Franklin

Fits you to a t.

So you think it is acceptable for the police to break into a person's home just because they refuse to open the door?
Also, the tip was "never about Goldsberry's apartment", so you can't say it was reliable.

The "reliable" tip didn't not correspond to the house in question but general area. They went house to house demanding to search. The is not real police work, and this isn't Iraq.
